I think it’s silly that you could go to a state where it’s legal, enjoy it legally, then come back home and a month later lose your job.
Even in states where it is legal, your employer can still test you and does not have to keep you if you fail.

I really don't believe MJ impairs driving unless you are stupid stoned.
So what you are saying is that it does impair driving.
Many times a drink or two doesn't impair drivers either.

When the courts can find a way to make money off of impaired drivers on Maryjane, then the way of illegal pot will be abolished.

I better call my buddy back and get a couple of those $10 Peanut-butter Cookies made out of 15 mg of Wax.

As long as that is in your employment agreement as a reason for termination with cause or part of their drug testing policy that an employee agrees to

Yeah. I understand he was talking out of his arse with a ridiculous statement like that.

You can't get addicted to weed though
One of the things with addiction is compulsive use despite negative consequences. Losing job=negative consequence.
Keep telling yourself that lie though spicoli.

Now if only there was one for opiates.

I do know plenty of lazy potheads. Even so, that shouldn't be used against all people who want to use pot. There are a lot of drunk drivers that kill people, should we ban liquor? A lot of people go bankrupt because of gambling, so should we shutter the casinos?
There are people right now who get high on Tetrafluoroethane (canned duster, also R134a refrigerant) should we ban car air conditioning and refrigerators??
People are using ridiculous straw men to keep this plant illegal. Even after numerous medical benefits have been proven.
i actually don’t think it should be illegal.
i’m not a smoker, and prefer not to be around people that are smoking. But really and truly don’t care one way or another if they do it.
i just think it’s ridiculous to say that “you can’t get addicted” to it.

If someone wants to have a beer or wine or smoke a joint or eat an edible when they get home, they should be able to
And someone should have the right to set the rules to work at their private company.
Why are you entitled to tell me how to run my business or company?

Companies have the right to know if they're employees are potheads whether it's illegal or not.
Do companies also have a right to know if their employees are promiscuous? Whether they eat too much fried foods?

Because people who don't or have never run a business have 0 idea what it takes or the risk the owner takes in starting the business, or guiding it after being successful. I'm starting to believe that people think that businesses just pop out of the ground with an evil white man running the show, and he busts a nut every time he implements a policy they don't like.

They should have the right to fire if they find you are promiscuous.
They should have the right to set forth terms of employment and enforce those terms.
If you disagree with those terms work somewhere else or start your own business and set your own terms.

with other employees? yeah.
lots of companies prohibit that.
perfectly legal to do between consenting adults on their free time. but fireable offense in lots of workplaces.

Yeah man, employees drinking a beer at night after work is DEVASTATING to companies everywhere.

Willfully Obtuse. What I meant (didn't think I needed to explain this to you as I find you insightful and smart 99%), is that a private company has the right to ask you to agree to do things, or not do things in this case, in exchange for currency. If said employee does not want to do (or not do) these things, he is under no obligation and can find more agreeable employment elsewhere.
Now I would hope it doesn't happen to anyone, but it is not illegal or even wrong. It just is and should never change.
FWIW I smoke pot 3-5 times a week, but just as I think I should be able to smoke it as I walk into a courthouse, a business owner should be allowed to not employ people that do not live up to his expectations.
Does that put a finer point on this for you? It is about individual rights, not the morality of drugs.
