Mississippi had two Miss Americas back-to-back.
Mary Ann Mobley was 1959 & Lynda Lee Mead was 1960.
Both ladies were Chi Os at Ole Miss
Mobley made two movies with Elvis and went into entertainment while Mead got married and moved to Memphis to be a Doctor’s wife.

Minnie Pearle. Boy, that brings back memories of watching Hee-Haw on Saturday nights as a kid in the 70s and early 80s.

Anyone else remember going to K-Marr with your mom and getting to eat lunch in the cafeteria in the back?

The Pioneer Cafeteria.
For the Birmingham people:
Which cafeteria did you prefer for lunch?
Britling’s? Or The Pioneer?
Britling’s for me, but I’d go back to either. Trout almondine and cherry pie for me.
