Actually, it is a CH46 Sea Knight or affectionately known as the "Phrog". Easily confused with the Chinook because of the tandem rotor system.

Chuck Pitman was DCS Air* of the Marine Corps when I was flying CH-53Es out of MCAS Tustin. We had an officers' call at the O Club over at El Toro and Lt. gen Pitman showed up. He could drink all of us company grade officers under the table. Great guy. Natural leader.

(BTW, that's a CH-46, not a shite hook. The Frog was much smaller than the 47)

the military has a long history of trying to punish people for doing the right thing, the ones we hear about are because of the act getting publicity, no telling how many punishments/courts martial there have been for what didn't get into the public
