I'm an "old" PETE, and even though that video is 40 yrs prior to me walking the hallowed Halls, I'm fairly certain that was Hawkins. I have the Reservoir Engineering book with his name on it. I was at LSU in the 80s. Great school. Prepared me well for the oil & gas industry. I don't miss the corporate world, however. I do miss the field guys. Thanks for posting! Forver LSU!

You sound exactly like Dad with those remarks!
Dad's graduation was held up ever so slightly by his failure to attend LSU Geology Camp during the summer between his junior and senior year, so he had to go out to Colorado for the camp the summer after he had completed all his course work. I have probably a hundred Kodachrome slides from his six weeks out there.
Is geology camp still required of PETE students?
Oh - and thanks for the comment regarding Dr. Hawkins.

Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama circa 1969:

Even though I’m a lifelong Auburn fan, I’ve attended numerous Alabama games over the years, the first being in 1985. Back then Bama usually didn’t play important home games in Tuscaloosa, but instead would play them at Legion Field in Bham. One thing I remember about the old Bryant-Denny, before the modern expansions, was how quiet it was during games. It was primarily due to the design, very wide lower bowl. It was also partially due to a lot of old school Alabama fans, the ones from the Bryant era, looking down on cheering or acting excited in any way during a game. Even after the upper decks were built, it still never got all that loud; definitely nothing like the noise at places like Jordan-Hare, Tiger Stadium, Neyland, or Ben Hill Griffin Stadiums. I know it’s gotten louder with the addition of end zone upper decks though.

John Lennon could have had just about any woman in the world he wanted. It’s always boggled my mind why in the hell he chose her. There’s a shite ton of stunningly beautiful Japanese women. She is not one of them. Not even close.

Paul choosing Linda.
John & Yoko actually makes a kind of sense, w/her feeding his artistic pretensions.
Linda was a spoiled J.A.P. (make your own jokes) whose rich father got her a job as a magazine photographer, a position she used to become the most notorious upmarket starfricker in NYC. There were much more attractive groupies available.
Add the fact that while Yoko was cold, Linda was an absolute bitch, especially to her servants. According to several Beatle insiders she was far more disliked than Yoko.

Hey Angel, I didn't have to go to Geology summer camp, and I got into the College of Engineering in 1984. So, I don't think it's currently required unless they picked it back up again. I had some Geology friends who talked about summer camp in Wyoming and other places. I did work offshore with Marathon Oil for a summer. At that time, the Co Op Center was a great place to apply for jobs in summer and also permanent jobs after graduation.
