Lmao! Look at that dope, what did she expect? I don't care about tattoos but anyone who tattoos their face clearly isn't all there upstairs.

Also, the chick is 19 and he's 31, come on now.

It's her fault for getting with this loser and expecting anything other than abuse.

Yeah, it kinda was. Don't hire a photographer to stand there and take photos while your kid watches you get beat up.

Usually the photographer has to put aside their own feelings to capture this kind of thing, which will invariably turn people against the photographer.

I'm calling bullshite. What kind of abusive boyfriend invites a photographer into the house to gather evidence against him? Something doesn't smell right here.

Makes me sick to my fricking stomach seeing that little girl in there.

I would glaze over shite like this before I had kids, but now it hits me like a brick.

The article says the photojournalist, Sara, had met them and they agreed to let her follow them around & take pictures. Shane (thug trash) was an ex-con, so

quote:

Sara had planned to “paint a portrait of the catch-22 of being a released ex-convict: even though they are physically free, the metaphorical prison of stigma doesn’t allow them to truly escape”.

quote:

However, one evening the angle of her story dramatically changed.

She took pictures of their fight while she had someone else in the house call the police. Showing the pictures to the mom helped convince her that it wasn't her fault and to dump his sorry arse.

ETA: Mom has serious issues of her own apparently. Sad story, and I hope they break the cycle of stupid decisions and those poor kids are able to make something better for themselves.

Photo-journalist Sara Naomi Lewkowicz, from New York, began photographing Maggie and Shane in 2012 after meeting them at a fair in Ohio.

Maggie shared her experience of losing her mother to a drug overdose at the age of eight, and having the challenge of raising two kids alone while their father – her then-estranged husband who had cheated on her – was working with the army in Afghanistan

obviously NOT her fault she was abused, but why are people surprised when anybody with lots of tattoos does crazy shite?

and she's already pregnant with some other dude's kid? she needs serious help, and tied tubes.
