I just wish there was some way to click on the ad and say "I've already bought the damn thing, leave me alone."

YES! I bought a freeezer recently. For weeks, I was getting freezer ads. I know it pays Chicken's bills, but goddamn, at least try to sell me something you have a chance of selling me.

A few weeks back, someone posted about those fatty mattresses. I clicked on the link out of morbid curiosity (I bet you thought I was gonna say obesity). Mistake. For weeks, nothing but banner ads of walruses on beds.

EDIT: I just started getting ads for baby clothes. frick.

I have had no contact, and don't share a last name with any of those relatives. Some are even distant cousins by marriage.

I figured it pulled info from my Google contacts, but it is also grabbing info from family ties. If I had my GPS on, I have no doubt it would suggest I connect with people walking around or standing by me

You’ll have a ghost profile if you don’t have a real one.

Exactly. You are captured from lots of angles going through security check points at major airports. That's one major reason TSA Pre works. You have to submit yourself live, in person, to get the pass after a background check. Your image is taken from multiple angles and goes into a database. When you go through that checkpoint and are scanned, a computer is checking to make sure that you are actually you.

This is why it’s much more secure to have a password protected phone or computer than one using facial recognition to unlock.

With VR and 3D facial modeling of your online image, you’re wide open since you really can’t change your face.

While you can easily change your password.

Look up and around you, dumbass. When you scan that boarding pass, either using paper or your phone, guess what? You're on Candid Camera and in a blink of an eye your face is matched to a facial recognition database. Oh? Don't think I know what I'm talking about?

Al Gore-ithms will soon have the interwebs identifying your car on the road as well...so, good luck trying to convince your wife it was someone else in a vehicle like yours at the titty bar.

Do you really think that the fed gov't, military, and law enforcement don't have even better abilities than facebook does? and that they don't log the results?

No, whatever you think the federal government is capable of doing it is usually less. The Boston Bombers are a good example, the FBI had multiple security camera videos from the area, the FBI had to take the video to a local TV studio to see if they could enhance it for them, After getting a image of one of the bomber they identified him by putting the image on local TV and asking if anyone knew who he was, and this was even with the FBI already having a file with photos of the two bomber brothers. Real life is no where close to what is on NCIS and CSI.

Google Photos has a similar feature that helps you search your database of photos simply by typing in the person's name.

Yeps. Picasa(Google Precursor to Photos) had this about 7 yrs ago. I'ts come a LONG way and makes organizing stuff on the fly very easy.

Example a few weeks ago. At end of their 5th grade year program, My daughter's teacher wanted kids to make a slide of pics from of their K-5 years. It Was really easy to find most of her pics by face and then sort by datestamp to pick 8-10 best pics.

Now I don't I like it happening via security cameras and shite around the world.
