Anybody that knows the family knows that Kay Robertson and the sons have always said that they were expecting someone to come out of the woodpile after the Duck Dynasty run. Phil has never hid from his background and it was rough and he for sure cheated on Kay after they were married. He actually wrote a book post DD and came out about how bad he was and it was an eye opener for sure.

Exactly dude. I saw this posted elsewhere like it was some big gotcha. I know the show jumped the shark, but he’s always been very honest about his life and how he’s changed.

What’s the deal with the daughter’s mom? I mean DD has been around for YEARS, how does the mom not talk to the daughter and suggest that Phil may be the dad? He was a pretty big time college Qb among other things back in the day right? I mean not just some random Joe she wouldn’t remember banging?

I don't think anybody really knows that answer outside of the family but from listening to the Unashamed podcast the daughter is ok financially with a life and I think knew that he was the dad for a while but went ahead and got a DNA test just to confirm. After she got results, she forwarded letters to Duck Commander and White's Ferry Road Church that said as much with enough backup to make Jase and Alan figure this wasn't some hoax trying to get money from them. They then had another round of DNA tests with Phil and it was a 99% match.

Her mom never told her until after the man who she thought was her father passed. She didn't know until then.
