What kind of lunacy is this? And how in the hell does this prevent fraud or safe practices as they claim?

You can’t really dissect the loopholes in that system with a head full of Oxy.

They pulled you up in the database. Must have been a lot of red flags popping up.

What’s the issue?

You bring your script and present ID?
Someone you know picks it up. They had to have you say it’s ready. What’s the problem?

Hadn’t even touched the computer. Looked at the script and said “I need the recipients ID”.

It’s annoying as frick. Waited in line for 30 minutes for them to tell me that then had to go home and get my wife’s ID.

Wait, they said they just need you to bring your wife's ID?

When did that start? As of just a few months you could present your ID, and did not need the recipient's.

I picked up for a parent recently and didn't have to show any ID. They just asked me the home address and zip code. This was at Walgreen's. I was very surprised.

Yep. She stared blankly at me when I asked her how that makes it a safer process.

Who “drops off” scrips these days?

And even after the doc or PA calls them in I always show my I D when I pick them up. Especially if they’re narcotics

If it is something you get filled on a monthly basis, did your doctor require you to give a piss test?

I have a prescription I get filled monthly and I have to go to a checkup visit every 3 months. It is a total waste of time, I go in, the nurse takes blood pressure, takes my temp, the usual stuff. The doctor comes in, ask how everything is going. Bullshits about non medical stuff for a few minutes while he submits my prescription to my pharmacist. And that's it.

The last time I went, I had to do a drug test. My doctor told me it is something new they are required to do. But after leaving the appointment, I started thinking. Are they seeing if the meds that people are being prescribed are in the patient's system.. If not, maybe thats an indication they are doing something illegal with them or what? But yeah, it seems like they always have something new.. that doesn't make sense.

I don’t know. The urgent care wrote it out. I got home and went to walgreens to get it filled for her.

Irrelevant to the idea that having her ID makes sure the filled script is going to the intended recipient.

Who "drops off" scripts these days? Oh just everyone in La who has a script for controlled drugs such as narcotics and a few others. The law requires a hard copy of the script. That's just how it is.

that's pretty inconsiderate of you to try to get a prescription at 9:38 pm. Especially on a school night. Many pharmacists have kids they're trying to go home to and you're trying to get your drugs right before closing
