Well. I long time friend of mine has a property less than 3 miles from here with a historic structure on it that is listed with the LA SHPO *which the monuments are as well)

He gets letters often about what he can and can't do, even the adjacent properties. So please educate me. Can he dismantle the structure and sell the it off as reclaimed wood? Help me understand.

Anyone have any specs on the Beauregard statue? I mean that thing is enormous. I would love to know how much it weighs.

Hopefully a cable breaks and kills someone when they're lifting PGT up.

Might be a stupid question but could they ever put these back up in the future?

Everyone already knows the USA was founded as a White Christian nation, nothing wrong with celebrating that fact

And apparently participation on a message board does not require any intelligence on your part.

I don't want to see anyone die over this.

However, a broken arm or leg so they can sue the frick out of the city...I think that'd be ok.

Seriously doubt any of the current mayoral candidates that have announced will put them back.

Unless Torres runs(is he a Repub or Lib?) I don't see it happening.

So you're in favor of completely boycotting the city? Not gonna spend another dime here?

Taking down statues just ensures that blacks will continue to be slaves to the system. So dumb.

When I visited Budapest this past year I went to a park where old Cold War statues were kept. They were barely even preserved - many were cracked into multiple pieces and laying on the ground letting Mother Nature take its course. This is what will probably happen to these civil war monuments.
