I vote for Dookie Circle. Although that might increase the amount of homeless shits in the area.

Why do you automatically assume that anyone black is not a racist? She could be a racist black woman for all we know.
I suspect that if you put everyone to the "racism test," you'd have some big surprises.

Brees circle is the only name that will satisfy both sides.

What is sad, and amusing, is that you’re actually wrong.
And your attempt, like so many of your ilk, to look clever, simply reveals your ignorance and apparent unwillingness to educate yourself.
That is the problem with, you people.
You believe you’ve got the truth, like some Baptist preacher, but you’re actually uneducated morons who the rest of the world must suffer.
I would caution you about putting your foot in your mouth. But I don’t think it would help.
Slavery was the issue of the day, but it what it did was simply expose deep political and cultural cleavages between the north and south. One was a mercantile society, the other, a backwards looking and largely feudal construction. They were not compatible, and politics in Washington had devolved into mutual attempts to dominate the other. This could not, and would not last.
This is clear from period letters, where you see southerners writing about the war as a defense against political slavery, their expression, at the hands of the north.
Northerns by comparison were consumed by the idea of union. They could not stomach the idea of losing the south and seeing the United States accordingly diminished.

I don't think the statue should have never been taken down. but I really don't care I don't live there and don't have a dog in the hunt. As far as renaming it for Leah Chase, I think that would be a mistake. I think people are overreacting so quickly after her death. I will ask this. I don't think it had been mentioned one time before her death to rename it after her or name any highly visible spot of the city after her. IMO name the street in front of the restaurant after her. Their are others that are more deserving. I heard someone mention that it could be renamed Veterans Circle. That isn't a bad idea.

I was a proponent of a statue of fats domino and renaming the circle “blueberry hill”

Now this is the most deserving person that could get this. Now that I think about it naming after her instead of Fats would actually be a huge insult to Fats.

Keep the name Lee Circle and just put a statue up of Bruce Lee.

This won't sit well with the OT. They are more focused on honoring a racist general than a black woman.

Makes sense. Couldn't be anything about states rights or anything like that. Definitely, it was ONLY about slavery. Who knew wars were so simple?
It was about slavery
