It’s all a matter of personal preference and what you’re comfortable with. Personally, I carry a Charter Arms .44 Spc. For me, I like the feel of the weapon. And most importantly, I know there is virtually zero chance it will not function when it counts.

Ammunition is also another important consideration. Personally, I keep Hornady Critical Defense, .44 FTX 165 Grain in my pistol.

I pray the situation never arises where I have to use it. But if it does, I want to give myself the best chance at neutralizing the threat immediately.

Glock 26 (or similar in that same frame)...with:

Extended 1/2 inch floor plate (pinky finger grip) mag extension.

and for the 26...

Federal Premium HST 147gr or 124gr JHP or
Speer Gold Dot 124gr +P or

or....

Winchester Defender or
Hornady Critical Defense/Duty ammo.

Not much bigger that mini LCP Ruger, round edges, FAR better trigger, and its a Glock.

Evidently not fast enough. Hear you though. Get them f’n thieves!

Some of you facks assume any question of risk is anti gun sentiment. Nope. Was curious. “Personal protection”…why.

More sensitivity and emotions in some here than perimenopausal women. Hope the thieves leave you some pads.

I have the blank version. The only thing I hate about it is that it can be a bit too small for my big hands. I also have a Taurus that was my entry level thanks to a connection with their PR.

HK VP9L . I don't carry just anywhere. I'll bring it depending where I go.

My dc is 9 times out of 10 a Taurus GX4. It feels like I was born with it in my hand. It’s perfect. I also carry a Smith & Wesson M&P subcompact sometimes, and occasionally a Smith 642.

I have a Shield also and I like the clip idea.

P365 with the extended 12rd magazine instead of the standard 10rd will allow your pinky finger to hold on to the grip
or..
The P365XL which really should not have "XL" in the name. There is nothing XL about this handgun. It's considered a micro compact with a standard 12rd mag but with the option to use a an extended 15rd mag and a slightly longer slide and barrel which reduces the muzzle fliip a bit.
