Anyone know what places are next to replace these shitty places?

This would do very well. Not ideal spot, but I could see people congregating in center square.

Not sure why you think some super amazing restaurant is gonna show up and work.

If you haven’t noticed, Baton Rouge doesn’t exactly workout for anything other than basically chicken, sushi, bbq, and seafood.

Everytime some random and actually good restaurant opens, it doesn’t make it because the dinners are way too expensive.

And i get it, I’m not paying $25 for some regular entree just cause it’s “New Orleans cuisine”

I disagree with you. Baton Rouge has tons of places to eat. That’s why it’s hard to stay open. The competition is strong. Either bring your A game or GTF.

Maybe Chick fil a could open a giant sit down only space.

Imagine the traffic they could generate...

Hopefully they get 2 local places, but I know rent is probably way too high for that. Those are great locations, especially with all the events and live music that P-Rowe has out in that courtyard. They need a beer bar to go where Kona is, that would be cool. I feel like the Bulldog/Wrong Iron owners would have enough money to put something there.

One reason that I have heard they struggle to get tenants is that they are forced to sign non-competes. Don't know how legit that info is, just what I have heard through the grapevine. So basically Perkins Rowe cannot get another place that sells pizzas to move in because CPK is there.

Also, it blows my mind that some places still haven't leased. Specifically the 2 first floor corners on the sides of the movie theater building. I don't think I have ever seen a tenant in either of those spaces. You would think after years of nothing, they would lower rents for those 2 units until they were filled.

Actually it was called “The Loft”, not “The Wine Loft” since Perkins Rowe didn’t want wine in the name since the area was supposed to be family friendly.

This is actually a really great idea.

Wow. Wild if true. I mean, I get it. But still crazy.

Rouj Creole is fantastic for those who haven’t been. I guess it falls under the other dude’s “entrees for $25 because it’s New Orleans cuisine” but I enjoy it
