So what funds are used to add bike lanes?

Road fund.

Cars use those lanes more than bikes anyway.

This is a serious matter though. If the intent is to kill all cyclists, start with the little ones in neighborhoods. They don't fight back as well.

Those damn bikers held me up for 30 seconds during my commute!

Two minutes later...

Then why spend money making them?

I don't think anyone, even cyclists, want bike lanes on major thoroughfares. But it's kinda crazy that tons of countries are able to install infrastructure that allows for both bike and motor traffic but it's a literal impossibility in the US.

How is every street in Copenhagen not at a standstill at all hours of the day with all those cyclists?

all good. Look, I grew up in S. La. Lake Charles. you think it was easy being a serious cyclist there? you took your life in your hands if you got off the sidewalk. I get it. There are areas that aren't conducive to riding a bike. Knowing that has prolonged my life.

No no no…you take out the strongest in the pack first. The six speed speedo sporting sort.

Then the weaker ones fall in line

At least BR has a velodrome they are basically non-existent. It would be fun to watch dozens of first-timers riding the banks on fixed gear bikes all at once though. Orthopaedists would be buying third homes.

Just speculating, a few reasons:
-more people on bikes
-smaller vehicles
-stricter licensing procedures
-fewer commercial trucks
-more road law enforcement for cars and bikes

For people who choose or have to commute by bike.

This isn't hard to understand.

And they're intimidated by the sight of a man on a road bike.

That's the thing I'm trying to prove here. More cycling infrastructure would actually make car commuters' trip FASTER if you can induce enough demand for bike travel. Adding bike lanes/paths means cycling is a more lucrative mode of travel to some people means fewer people in cars means improved traffic flow for all commuters.

But nah caint let them sissy fairy cyclists use MY tax dollars! Add another lane to I-10!

So then those users can pay a tax for that That's essentially your logic in bringing up that bikes aren't as heavy as cars.
