There's no functional reason at all except to get some virtual high fives and perhaps earn a hookup from some lib girl.

However, what is becoming more and more evident is that a very good part of our population doesn't care about functionality. Or facts. They are driven by emotion, share information that is convenient to their narrative without fact checking it, and are generally just weak mentally and cannot handle criticism or opposing points of view. Hence this thread. Hence my liberal friends deleting conservative friends and my conservative friends deleting liberal friends. We gotta live in that echo chamber now because we can't handle our ideals being challenged.

I don’t have much of that on my newsfeed... I’ve made it a habit to unfollow people over the years so that most of my newsfeed is related to work, travel, marketplace, or close friends and family.

Do they even know what it represents? Do they know they are blindly supporting everything that's going on, both good and bad because its the trendy thing to do on social media?
