If you’ve ever suspected that you’re different, perhaps the reason is because you are. Perhaps you have the blood of ancient astronauts coursing through your veins.

Why do some people have no such proteins? This is a mystery! Scientists believe that the first people on the Earth with a negative Rh factor appeared 35,000 years ago. HOW? No one knows. The most popular theory is precisely the extraterrestrial origin of the DNA of these people.

quote:

Moreover, if a pregnant mother has Rh-Negative blood, the immune system of her body will attack the fetus, perceiving it as a foreign body. That's why such women are asked to take special medicines during pregnancy, which suppress immunity.

Why does their own body attack their own children? Why does it perceive them as strangers? This puzzle does not have a clear answer, but it definitely works in favor of the theory of the alien origin of such people.

I just going to go ahead and admit I’ve never heard of Rh negative.

I heard an even more insane theory once. New human characteristics can appear during cell replication if the DNA doesn't copy exactly.

But that's so batty that even Coast to Coast won't touch it.

I think RH- women only need to do the Rhogam shot for the second and subsequent pregnancy. Doesn't affect the first. And I guess only if the dad isn't RH- as well.

It’s just the negative in O-, A-, etc.

I’m O-. Being an alien explains a lot.

Huh. I was just talking to my kids and their cousins about aliens. I asked “how do we know that we are not the aliens?” Blew their minds.

Apparently. If you don’t believe in the possibility of genetic mutation.

It is a little unsettling that my body would actively fight any baby with a positive blood type, considering it to be a foreign body.

If I said you had the body of an alien would you hold it against me?

During an Rh-negative woman’s first pregnancy with an Rh-positive fetus, serious problems usually do not occur because the baby often is born before the woman’s body develops many antibodies. If preventive treatment is not given during the first pregnancy and the woman later becomes pregnant with an Rh-positive fetus, the baby is at risk of Rh disease.

That's why such women are asked to take special medicines during pregnancy, which suppress immunity.

So the treatments primary function is not really the eliminate the low risk present in the first pregnancy but to eliminate the much higher risk associated with subsequent pregnancies.

Actually, it does, the body reacts to an unexpected protein as an invader and develops antibodies to combat that protein. Much like it does for any disease organism. As a result of understanding this mechanism, doctors have developed medication to combat this,

Not even close, it works in favor of of the concept of genetic mutations being passed from parent to offspring.

But still...

My Dad said he had AB blood. Don't remember if positive or negative. He did say it was pretty rare.

I don't even know my blood type.
