O- here as well. I gave blood all my life since O- is the universal donor type. After making the 10 gallon club and basically giving every time RC called, I only give on occasion now. My family doc said a couple of times a year is good enough.
I knew I was from “out there” ever since I was in this nice, cozy, warm sac of fluid just enjoying life and the terrible explosion, being forced thru a slippery tube, then jettisoned outward and having to breathe air, wipe my arse, stuff life sustaining substances down my gullet, etc..... its all so weird but it does makes sense now!

I swear I get calls from Red Cross asking for blood every 27 seconds.

I think RH- women only need to do the Rhogam shot for the second and subsequent pregnancy. Doesn't affect the first. And I guess only if the dad isn't RH- as well
Women can’t have hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn during their first pregnancy (unless they developed the antibody from a blood transfusion), but they need rhogam to lower their chances of developing the alloantibody during the first pregnancy.

Me too.
And I just recently found out my blood type as well. If you have never had surgery, or a baby, or don't donate blood, or have never been hospitalized ....very possible to not know your blood type. It isn't a routine test done just for the heck of it.

That's often why the pregnancy exists in the first place.

Not really true. My wife is rh and I am O positive. We lost our first child because we didn’t know.
First, let me say that I'm sorry to hear that you and your wife went through that. What happened to you can and does happen but it is rare in a first pregnancy.
On a totally side note, did you get your user name from the 2nd century Bishop of Smyrna or from the late host of the morning children's show in Acadiana?

The one from Acadiana, My favorite show, watched it every morning..I wish I could find a straw hat like the one he would wear..

I used to watch that too, waiting on the bus in the morning. Curious how old you are, I'm 56 and it seems like he wasn't around much longer after I quit watching in the early/mid 70's.
Did he ever get of that sandbar?

I'm in the Scott/Lafayette area. LEO Judice, then Prairie openned when I was in 2nd Grade, then Scott Jr High, then Acadiana class of 1980. Wonder if we ever crossed paths?

Why does their own body attack their own children? Why does it perceive them as strangers? This puzzle does not have a clear answer, but it definitely works in favor of the theory of the alien origin of such people.
That doesn't work in favor of alien at all. It follows the course of essentially all rheumatologic disease.

I graduated in ‘80 also, but from the LC area, I played golf in HS?

No. “Unexpected protein” sounded euphemistic to me because I’m mentally a 12 year old boy. You’re good
When I read it , I heard it in the voices of Beavis and Butthead and also giggled.

Never been a golfer. I pretty much played drinking and academics with a bit of pot mixed end toward the end.
