I think it's kind of silly and I might roll my eyes. But then that's no different than the other 99% of Facebook. So I just don't go on there hardly ever. It's not just likes and prayers. Almost everything on Facebook is annoying and pointless. If I wanted to read an article, I would have read it already. /rant

I always enjoyed reading the local, once a week newspaper as a kid in the small town where I grew up. They had a prayer section that was nothing more than a way to talk shite about people by connecting "keep em in your prayers" to it.

Communities would be better served if people actually went out to help instead of typing “prayers sent” and then saying “welp, I’ve done my dead. Sent prayers”

How do you know that some of those folks have not done something else? How do you know that some have not made donations if they are financially able to do so, for example?

I don't think saying you're praying means you can check off a "good deed for the day". That's never crossed my mind.

I accept all prayers and I'm happy to have them any time.

The worst is when people ask for prayers and don't tell me what the frick is wrong.

No prayers for you unless I know the circumstances.

I prayed for those puppies you found and that you would find homes for the survivors, but maybe that wasn't acceptable to you. I probably said it in a post on here which is social media.

Yeah, such a cliché. No one is actually praying.

The one that annoys me most is "prayers to the family", or "prayers sent to the family".

Aren't prayers supposed to be sent to a deity, for the family? What good does praying to the affected family do?
