I went 15 years without going to the dentist. I never floss. Dentist told me my teeth looked great. Had zero cavities.
They tried scheduling me in 6 months, told them I’ll see you in another 10 years.

Some people have good teeth no matter what. Some people have terrible teeth no matter what.

Why bother to brush your teeth? You'll just have to do it all over again the next day.

Sure, but that's something you usually see coming too. It's not like you wake up and need veneers one day.

Some truth to that, but generally bad advice for health care.

Uncle in his 50s lost all his teeth. I definitely should adhere to this advise.

Depending on your premiums, paying cash for dental work is usually the best way to go. You're not going to get some catastrophic dental bill, so there isn't much of an actual insurance need there IMO.

Dental insurance for a family of 4 is a hell of a lot cheaper than paying a dental bill, especially if you have kids with braces, and on top of that cleanings, X-rays, my wife has had a root canal and 2 crowns replaced all in the past 2 years.

It’s well worth it.

I brush my teeth twice a day. Floss and use mouth wash. Chew lots of gum.

Have never had a cavity, or any teeth issues. Never had wisdom teeth removed. Nothing.

I haven’t been to the dentist in maybe a decade lol.

The nature of insurance means it is not worth it for most people. If it was, insurance companies would go broke.

You should insure a risk you can't afford, and pay for everything else.

The only two dynamics that change that decision is your actual premiums and your oral health history. If it's cheap and/or your health is shite, get insurance.

Haven't been to dentist in 20 years.

Haven't brushed my teeth in 2 weeks. Brush about once every month.

Zero cavities and no gym issues. I eat healthy and have excellent bacteria that takes care of anything.

Dentistry is a damn racket.

I go every 3 months. But mainly cause I have ongoing gum issues. My family genetics unfortunately favors dental issues so I might as well be proactive to keep my teeth healthy.

My dental insurance pays for it so why not?

People who don't brush and floss twice a day followed by a good mouth wash AND HAVE TO GO GET THEIR teeth cleaned are gross.
