Lady at work admitted to not going to dentist for regular cleanings, saying brushing every day was enough. I almost lost my lunch

There really is zero excuse to not go every 6 months

I bet you'd be shocked at how many people just don't go to the dentist

I’m in the every 6 month crowd and I don’t pay a penny so why wouldn’t I take advantage of my dental insurance

I definitely try and go every 6 months. You don't want to get gum disease.

I brush and floss regularly but after a few months I can almost feel my teeth not being clean and know it’s time to go let the hygienist do her thing to get the ‘clean’ feel back.

Depending on your premiums, paying cash for dental work is usually the best way to go. You're not going to get some catastrophic dental bill, so there isn't much of an actual insurance need there IMO.

I go every 6 months BUT for a period of about 3 years I didn’t go at all because I moved and just never got around to finding a new dentist.

When I finally went again after 3 years the hygienist said my teeth were very clean and had only normal plaque build up. She couldn’t believe it had been 3 years.

I floss every day and make love to my teeth with my tooth brush. Soft bristles, listerine, and flossing does the trick.

I have Invisalign now and am thrilled with my results so far after two and a half months. Never got braces as a child because I was too much of a pussy but as I got older my teeth got more and more jacked up to where I couldn’t stand it anymore. Best money I’ve ever spent and I can’t wait to see how much better they’re going to look when I’m finished in the spring.

My last bosses wife would get legit pissed if someone had to miss work to go to the dentist
Said it was completely unnecessary

Think I pay $8 a month for dental. So that means I’m paying about $50 a cleaning and if god forbid I have to get anything extra, it’s covered

That would fall under the "depends on your premiums" caveat.
