Do this all the time. Drink some beers and roll in right for the main act. I’m not there to see whatever bum they have opening

I paid to come listen to X band and not the up and coming stars of tomorrow or a washed up B band.

I've seen 2000+ bands live. 95% of opening bands are boring at best and usually suck. Obviously, I'm not talking about a large concert with multiple bands that can headline their own shows. Their own shows with an opening band is what I'm talking about. And, even worse is when there are two shitty bands prior to the headliner. Keep in mind it's normally the record label choosing an opener for promotional reasons. With that said, most bands never "make it"....that's those openers. My wife and I will be in the bar prepping for the headliner.

As someone said earlier (and we should all heed this advice) worry about yourself.

Glad I saw this. I'm driving down to Orlando to see Blink in June and neither know, nor care, who's opening. But before this thread just figured I'd go in when the show starts. Now that I know I've got options, I'm definitely gonna hit up a bar until the main set. Thanks OP.

Prior to the late 90's with the building of new updated arena's with assigned seats & suites this didn't happen. Back in the 80's when I started going to shows there were no assigned seats & complete open floor. You get there when the doors open you get the best spots on the floor & in the seats. The place was packed for the opening acts. Complete debauchery.

You want real lunacy, ask people who photograph concerts. A handler escorts you out for the first two songs, then walks you back to a holding room until the next act goes on.

I had to sit through “No Doubt” before a 311 concert. Never again

I was still seeing big acts with GA almost 20 years later. The true reason is probably because they discovered they made more money with assigned seating.

I’m not one of those folks but I’ve seen enough shitty opening acts to understand why

People can spend their time and money in any way they please. They don't owe you, me or the performing act an explanation.

I leave after the warmup act to beat the traffic.

Kyper didn’t have an opening act when I saw them.
