I can’t imagine showing up at treatment and letting anyone know your doc is frickin kratom

we had a guy who was in for kratom, and i remember thinking the same thing... like, kratom? for real? how weak is that??

but then i remembered that on the ladder of hard core drug abuse, i was only on the prescription pain pills rung, and there were people that I personally knew or were in rehab with that were IV'ing Fentanyl and heroin and doing all kinds of shite i wouldn't even consider, even on my worst day as an active addict...

so it's all relative...

Kratom? Are they fricking serious with this

Article makes it out like a meth or heroin addiction. I don’t find it particularly effective

Ban Kratom, push people to heroin and Fentanyl.

Great job government of propping up the cartels.

I have to not only drive to another state to get it, but I have to hide it. It's as illegal in my state as getting busted with real drugs.

Before I cross back from Oklahoma to Arkansas I dump the bag of kratom into an empty green tea tin. I haven't been searched yet but I think I'm better off with a container of what looks like green tea rather than a bag that has kratom written all over it.

I don't think they have a road side kratom test....yet.

It's asinine to me that weed is legal in my state but kratom isn't. Weed doesn't do jack for my pain and I don't like being stoned.

Have to agree. First push the docs to prescribe pain pills (1990s.) About 15 years later, crack down hard and make legal pain pills near impossible to get. Keep rehab too expensive for someone who needs it (addicts aren’t exactly winning at life) to afford it. Ban supplements that these people use to remain functional and make them as big a crime as what’s left out there - heroin and Chinese fentanyl.

That story is such bullshite… I don’t see how anyone can get addicted to kratom. I take it and can and have stopped it with no effects whatsoever.

And those dumbasses that went into debt taking it is very funny because they’d do the same thing with anything….

I wonder what they were really taking along with kratom.

People speaking out about Kratom

It has been around for ages
It is an opiate like drug
It is addictive
It harms you long term
It is apparently legal at this time but should be regulated

This is my first hand experience from friends who have been Kratom junkies for decades and I was around to watch the destruction.

We are addicted to all kinds of things, the government only cares if it slows your productivity.

Yes
It’s addictive.
If you like opiates, you’ll be ok with kratom.
Withdrawal can vary.
There’s kratom junkies for sure.
Mostly former heroin junkies.

When histamine surges after quitting, you can have cold symptoms, insomnia, and restless legs. But there are certainly supplements she can take to minimize these effects. Just have to follow a regiment similar to people discontinuing other antihistamines.

Interesting. What kinda supplements would you suggest for someone in that situation?

Thats because those feel free drinks are a lot more than kratom.

Dumbasses in the press have gotten their marching orders and are calling products like feel free and 7-oh kratom. It's bullshite.

People say I drink too much coffee. I say I'd rather two large cups of black coffee during my drive every day than 99% of the bullshite that's sold in stores these days.

I can advise a few things, but you can find dozens of suggestions on Reddit.
• Agmatine to help reduce dose
• Claritin (loratadine) to quell the histamine storm
• Vitamin C for antihistamine and antioxidant support
• Black seed oil for cravings
• NAC (N-acetylcysteine) for reducing cravings and oxidative stress

Important: Never use Benadryl or any other first-generation antihistamines during withdrawal.

Why Avoid First-Generation Antihistamines

First-generation antihistamines:
• Cross the blood brain barrier
• Are anticholinergic, blocking acetylcholine, which is critical for muscle control and smooth nerve signaling
• Reduce dopamine levels, which can cause restless legs syndrome (RLS) to worsen from the dopamine decrease Kratom discontinuation causes.

RLS is fundamentally a dopamine regulation dysfunction. This was my worst symptom, and compression socks helped a lot. A low dose of Valium (0.5 mg) provided total alleviation. Alternatively, you could try other GABA-promoting supplements.

When acetylcholine signaling drops, the nervous system becomes noisy, sending irregular signals to muscles. This causes sensations like twitching, crawling, or the urge to move your legs.

Tapering and Dosage Tips

Some people take very high doses of kratom—up to 10 grams four times a day or even more. Ideally, tapering would look like this:
• Reduce to 5 grams once a day
• Then skip days gradually

For plain leaf kratom, this method results in very few symptoms. However, some people cannot manage tapering and need to go cold turkey.

Because kratom is a partial agonist, it has a ceiling effect. Most users take double the amount they need and can easily cut their dose in half without losing effects. One week at half dose is usually enough to regulate.

I recommend taking 0.5 to 1 gram of agmatine about 30 minutes before your kratom dose for a week. This should help you maintain the same effects with a reduced kratom dose.

and that's all fine and dandy, but i learned that, regardless, not to judge everyone else there, b/c i don't know how big a cross each one of them is bearing...

what may seem like a big nothingburger, as far as their DOC, IMO may carry the weight of the world to them, and it's not my place to determine how "big a deal" it is to them
