45."I'm a hospice chaplain and worked in a hospital for a time. There was a spiritual, non-religious man I had a good connection with. He requested that I come to his room. When I did, he motioned for me to crouch by his bed and spoke in a whisper: 'Do you see my brother in the corner?' I told him I didn't but believed he was seeing him. He was completely lucid and calmly explained that his brother had been in the corner talking with him, hashing things out and coming to forgiveness like they weren't able to do before his brother died. He worried the nurses would think he was crazy and try to medicate him. When I assured him I believed him and just wanted to listen to what he had to say, he went on: 'I see Death, too. She was in the parking lot, I could see her from my window. She had my brother with her. Now, she's in the room. She's all black but…she ain't ugly.' He was totally at peace. He died a few days later."

I've often thought about what my last words might be.

Probably something along the lines of, "Don't let me die you idiots!"

I started out pretending I didn’t care. Then I realized I wasn’t pretending.

I hope it’s to my family in my own bed telling them I love them and not to cry but celebrate our time together

I believe this is possible.

Neighbor recently died and 5 minutes before she passes spoke for the first time in 24 hours about "the light, and seeing Jesus reaching for her hand".

I am told that my grandfather's last words were, "What's that at the window? Please, don't let it in."

That's not something I like to dwell on.

When I had this stroke that pretty much knocked me on my arse there was that moment that I knew something bad was happening to me I grabbed the hand of the nurse it was at my bedside because I didn't want to be alone.
But I will tell you I was at peace I didn't know what the outcome was and I probably wouldn't have been at peace if I had known I was gonna end up half paralyzed
I thought I was gonna die and I was at peace with it.

I don't fear death anymore, and I dare a motherfricker to tempt me

If we went by anecdotal evidence we would believe in everything.

I’ve been a medic for a long time but have always blocked out last words. Years ago I was with a new partner and we got called to a code. My partner was very nervous and fell stepping in the house, fell right on his face We work guy and get him shockable rhythm then load him up. I get guy back and after a few minutes he’s talking. It’s seldom like in the movies though. One of first things he asked was if “that other boy is ok” I asked him what he meant and he told me he saw us coming in below him and witnessed him falling but couldn’t remember anything else. This dude was PEA when we got there.

When my great aunt was on her deathbed, she said she saw angels above her and that they were beautiful. She died a few minutes later.

Very similar. My neighbor who was like a grandpa to me was around 90 when he passed in his home. I was standing next to his bedside when he said there were black demons outside his window. This man was a retired chemist from Exxon Baton Rouge who was religious and probably the most honest man I ever met. If the devil sent demons to get him I don’t have a chance in hell.
