I am not familiar with what operation is going on at Lamar Dixon. What are they selling?
Posted on 8/19/16 at 12:28 pm to TulaneUVA
Lamar Dixon is a temporary shelter in Ascension Parish.

Returning diapers to exchange and buy beer and cigs?

Walmart doesn't give cash back for stuff.
They will get a gift card to spend at Walmart.

If there are any specific examples of this, that would definitely be a problem.
Taking something you don't need from the shelter is pretty shady though.

Doesn't surprise me people would do something like this
Some real pieces of shite out there.

If it is cash for something they need I honestly don't have a problem with it. By giving stuff, all I care is that they are getting something they need.

Probably preventive measures from past experiences. May not be from this event. Just protocol.

Rocket31 will be here soon to tell us this only happens in the south.

Given the situation, I pretty much agree.
It's not a widespread problem. It's giving them relief from their life being turned upside down. I've got more important things to be mad about than this.

They got it from the same reputable source that said the power was cut in Santa Maria by people preparing to loot the area.

Not sure about cutting power, but I have close friends that live there. There were definitely people saying they were with the sheriffs office telling people to get out. They came to their house. They followed up with the sheriff and were told that was not true. Take it for what you want...

I don't think the problem is people who need assistance are returning the items.
I would think the problem is people who DON'T need assistance are taking the free shite and returning it.
