They also sit in the front and have a little story or comment every damn time to tell the professor.

So many classes at LSU I had to hear:

“As a parent of three kids, I....”

“As a former BRPD officer...”

“My background as a waste management specialist showed me..”

People under 40 who think you've got your lives figured out, you're delusional.

my wife interviewed an upper 40s engineer who was trying to get accepted to vet school. He's an engineer. He wanted to do four years of vet school.
Thats driven. Crazy too, IMO.

When I retire, I'm going to take at least one class a semester at LSU for the rest of my life. It'll give me something to do as well as creep the honeys. I will also ask a lot of questions to piss everyone one off. And, since I'll be old, I'll get a handicapped parking pass so I can pull right of to the front of Lockett and get rock star parking.

But places like southern new Hampshire BS college don't exist to help people better themselves.

Southern New Hampshire University is a non-profit brick and mortar university that was established in 1932, and is well respected in that region. They simply decided to get out in front of the fast growing field of distance education.

You could learn pretty much anything on your own for way less than 5,000/semester. Sounds like a huge waste of money.

That is total nonsense, the number of people that have done it is almost infinite. I got another Masters degree at age 50 and changed to a totally different field. My wife's sister graduated in nursing at 40 something after being a stay at home mom and raising her kids. My buddy was a engineer and started dental school at age 40, he has been a practicing dentist for 25 years now.

One 3 hour class at LSU cost $1207.00 all fees included. You don't break $5000.00 until you cross 12 hours and are a full time student.

Is every thread you make about how somebody shouldn't be doing something that has zero bearing on anything you do?

You seem like a miserable douche.

So the older person goes and takes the same exact class as "the youngsters," and only the older person learns anything? Makes sense. Especially when all objective numbers say the younger people are more productive in the workplace.

I have taught college level classes, the collage age students constantly ask "will this be on the test?", while the older students try to actually learn all the material.

Tell me, then, how it doesn't. This theoritical person in the OP doesn't have a degree and is going to get a business management degree at 50. So they entirely debt finance at around 7% rate a degree that for all intents and purposes doesn't have that much earning potential. Couple that with the fact that the amount of working years left and the fact that you have to get hired as a 50 year old recent college graduate, and I'd say there are real questions as far as the financial benefit as opposed to cost.

No wonder your generation has no retirement savings and can't do basic functions on a computer.

None of that shite was in the OP.

Most people go to school for personal fullfillment (you'll understand more as you mature) and the value is more important than the cost. Many have their schooling paid for or pay as they go.

I did 22 years in one career (earning a degree while working full-time), started a second one at 40, and finished a graduate degree in that field at 45. Or was it 44? I'm old and forget little details. I'm doing alright, and enjoy what I do. It wasn't too late for me.

My cousin's wife went back in her mid-40s. They got married a year or two after both graduated from HS. He had gone to Nicholls for 3 or 4 semesters and she went get some type of office management certification (they graduated HS in the mid 80s)..

She got a job working for a lawyer and after being there for 20 years she decided she wanted to teach. She went to school, finished in 4 years, became a teacher and then 3 years later they divorced (not sure if her going to school played a factor, just stated what happened).

Pulled straight from the OP. You tell people how stupid they are and don't even read what you're calling people out on. C'mon man.

I'm glad you can project my maturity through limited posts on an annonymous message board. You are a character assessment wizard.

People with no degree going to school for the first time in their 40s or 50s? I'd venture to say most in that demographic are not.
