All the decent companies began leaving then.

Taxpayers are greatly outnumbered; there’s just not enough of them

And $200/mo water bills when it’s $30/mo everywhere else in the developed world.

This is why I was 100% against the stupid Mandeville to Bush highway that's getting built - all that's going to happen is more crappy strip malls and apartment complexes crawling out of Covington to satisfy the idiots fleeing NOLA. Now that its being built my property is about to go on the market. Rural St Tammany is about to be ruined forever.

it's really aggravating. i live right by the causeway, so it's good for my property value, i suppose. but i hate how much everything is spreading out.

I’ll choose to remain in NOLA, a place where my children can walk to great schools and I can walk or take a short drive to football games, good music, dozens of restaurants and bars.

this is oddly specific. Did some hipster steal your girl baw?

It’s a very unusual market. Houses are sitting a longer time than this time last year. I’m sure interest rates play a large part in that.
Others sell quickly.

Maybe more than other places... location matters.

NOLA has "worked" becasue traditionally the crime was limited to certain areas. Don't live in those areas and you are fine.

And if those areas start to feel the crime, they will just pass themselves a security fee to hire their own security.

Real facts. People in the nicer areas of the city have not had any need for the government for 3 decades. So the fact the government is getting worse means nothing to them. It also allows them to vote for the woke candidates beeause it lets them look good while not actually impacting them.

Crime is reported to be the common reason used. No surprise there.

Until the national media gets wind of it. It will be like them having to cover Jackson MS’ water problems. They keep saying the white population left because “the schools were integrating”.

A falsehood to make the surrounding areas who has water racist.

Of course the reason is the same. Crime.

Absolutely not “trolling “. Without being too specific, my children, who attend different schools, can walk less than five blocks to their respective schools

In terms of admissions to Ivy League and more selective state Universities (e.g. UVA, UNC, TX, CAL, Mich, etc.), I understand that schools in NOLA are substantially more successful than others throughout the state.
