I don't care about the fees, I carry-on because I don't want to wait at baggage claim for 20 minutes or worse have my bags get lost due to a delay/connection issue.

The roller bags themselves are not what annoys me. It’s the dinguses (mostly women) who can’t lift the said roller bag into the overhead bin and slow down the seating process. Same for exiting but they have to wait for somebody to get it down.

The planes I generally take, small airport > hub > small airport, just simply can’t fit a roller in the overhead at all. Everyone plane checks on the jet bridge. Doesn’t really take more time for me…I just see them held up after.
Well, duh then. Nobody wants to fly from some dump into ATL then have to wait 45 min at the bag in Cedar Rapids.
You live in a crappy city that lacks full air service and uses regional jets.

I have to drive 30 minutes to get to a crappy city.

There was a family at the KCMO airport back in June that was flying international and had all their luggage in tote bags from ALDI and whatnot. Clogged the entire checkin because the desk guy was having to tape the bags shut. Mom was completely oblivious.

Have you ever had lost luggage? I have.
What if you were flying to a port for a cruise and you made the embarkation but your luggage doesn't and it's not a naked cruise?
I always bring overhead luggage and a backpack.

I bring a backpack, but losing luggage is just a risk I’m willing to take to be hands free. I’ll buy clothes wherever I land, if necessary.
(I don’t cruise, so not a risk there)

Wow. That’s a great beginning for a movie. WTF did you do?

Any of you who bring on Subway sammies and decide to eat it after takeoff should be banned from flying for eternity and condemned to the depths of Hades.
And it's always 100% a fat white chick who shouldn't be eating anything in the first place

I’m annoyed with people eating the supplied snacks…food from the concourse and you’re a POS.
I wolfed down food on Monday in my layover…didn’t really figure out I was flying out of my time zone then back into it…so I thought my layover was longer.

Didn't happen to me but I know someone who experienced this. People in the cruise group lent clothes.
I used to fly early bird flights same day to Miami or FLL and get on a cruise ship. The what ifs have me always with my luggage.

My Dad brought a large box of Popeyes on a flight once and proceeded to dig in. Step mom said the entire plane and duration of the flight smelled highly of fried chicken.

I am not trying to check a bag abd add 2 hours to flight process

You gotta give a few pieces out at that point…just to gain some allies.

I was on a flight to Denver and a woman went to lift her bag into the overhead and she dropped the bag and it landed squarely on the head of a guy sitting in his seat. A flight attendant lifting the bag from the isle commented that the bag was really heavy. EMS came on the plane and checked the guy and led him off the plane.

I have spinner luggage and it's easy to manage. Not willing to lose my shite or to wait for baggage claim.

Good for you. Not something I want have to do at my destination.

I'll always help them if I can.
I've seen too many women, and some men, struggle with their bags and I don't have discs left to remove.

Exactly. My goal for travel in general is to avoid any inefficiencies I can. I fly frequently for work and aim to get to my gate as close to my zone being called without having to sprint thru the airport to do so. I want to grab my stuff, get off the plane, and head straight to ground transportation. I will tetris the hell out of my suits and shoes for week long conferences just to avoid checking a bag. Most airlines wont allow a checked bag within 45 minutes of departure, and screw going earlier to some small airport that takes 5 minutes to get thru security. I want to minimize my time in the airport.
The extra 5 minutes it takes to get off the plane due to carry on luggage pales to the extra 30 minute wait to get a checked bag, not to mention the worry of it being lost and the stupidity of people (is that my black suitcase that looks just like the other black suitcases being spit out? Let me touch each one!) at baggage claim.
No thank you on checking bags unless it is absolutely necessary.

Try spirit or frontier. I’m dead serious.
They charge like $80 for a carry on so nobody has one. Getting on and off is at least twice as fast.
They also don’t hand out freebie waters, snacks, and cokes. That means when you want a whiskey or beer, you can buy one immediately because they aren’t busy handing out freebies.
