yup...which I'm cool with, but she really doesn't like being firm with people she knows so it's made her really uncomfortable. It just blows my mind how many people think this is about them and their fun. Like I said...it's really revealed who the trash in our lives are
You're being a pussy and a cocksucker. You didn't put no kids no youre bitching because people are going to bring their kids. Also, you're being a spineless bitch, tell your coworkers it's a small family only wedding. Not that hard. Yeah it's your day, but youre just being a selfless spineless bitch.

Reception facilities should allow discounts on kids.
Kids are $8 a head versus $28 for adults.
Kids get lil smokies, mac n cheese, and juice boxes.
They do
But try like 45 dollars for kids versus 180 for adults

Motherfrickers better share our DNA or be a Single Struggling Parent to get that okayed by me.

I kiiiinda agree with you as a means to stop any awkwardness, but I hate that it's the norm today. You should be allowed to let people know that you're engaged and not have them expect anything.
Why do people clamor for wedding invites so badly anyway? Ugh.
Exactly!!! Like I said, I kept it hush for as long as I could for this reason. The people I wanted to know knew and that was fine for me. But as soon as I put in my PTO and stated the reason as wedding/honeymoon to justify the massive chunk of time, my supervisor invited herself and then a ton more followed. Hell it even spread around the company. I even got a call from a woman in HR who I've had many one mildly personal conversation with just to ask where her invitation was. Trashy AF!

JFC
Why anyone would spend that much on a wedding hurts my brain. Hope you're rich or only had 20 attendees.

"We're keeping it small. Family and close friends only"
It's that easy.

frick.
That’s pretty steep for a few drinks, a few finger sandwiches, some lil smokies and a slice of cake.

Um. Who the frick charges that much per head. I'm going to a wedding reception at Antoines this weekend and I'm quite positive it's not $180/head.
Found it. Tops out at about $175 on the range. And That's is probably one of the most expensive places in Louisiana. You're crazy.

Wedding Cost The average wedding cost at Antoine's Restaurant is estimated at between $10,767 and $17,573 for a ceremony & reception for 100 guests.

no shite Sherlock... that's what I did. My point is why the hell do I have to?? How trashy/desperate do you have to be to invite yourself to a wedding?
Posted on 5/7/18 at 11:02 am to scott8811
Several people have said just give an easy response:
1. We're keeping it small, family and close friends only
2. It is an adult reception
Why is that so hard to respond with again?
Unless this is just a thread to vent... then yes, people are stupid. Happy Monday.

You're complaining like a woman about a non-issue.

Probably includes cost of blowies for the groomsmen. At least I hope it does.
