Went to see The Lion King with my family at the beach last Thursday. It was the premiere, and it was at the beach, so it was crowded.

Was it at the beach?

People are becoming worse about using their phone in general. It's becoming a major pet peeve of mine.
It's REALLY REALLY REALLY BAD. a few years ago it was just younger folks, now it's EVERYONE.
That's why I don't understand people texting and driving. Yeah, I'm sure you can manage it just fine if no one else is doing it. But with everyone doing it you constantly have to watch out for frickers texting and not driving straight.

So you went to an outdoor area where they showed a movie, and expected people not to be on phones or devices???

I've been just going to broad. Have to be 21 to approach the bar that sells all the snacks. Plus for movies like solo, the nerds are actually watching the movie.

Just lean over & openly start reading their texts aloud and laugh, like it's the entertainment you paid to see.

If rudeness is allowed by parents & aisle ushers, your rudeness should get equal time.

I can’t imagine giving a frick about whether someone’s on their phone in the theatre.

It was the fact that the primary offender in this case was sitting right in front of my seven year old niece and was holding the phone almost above her face, making the light shine right into my niece’s face that caused it to bother me. The occasional glance at it with the phone in the lap isn’t such a big deal, but constantly looking at it while shining it in the faces of others is ridiculous.

We weren’t actually at the beach. When I say “at the beach” I mean we were on our beach vacation in a beach town, not that we were physically watching the movie on the beach. This was a regular movie theatre.
