re: Pentagon is Ending Tuition Benefits to Reservists

There is no disputing that point. However, neither is your retirement nor health care. We both know they are (instead) an understood benefit of service. Tuition assistance is a relatively new concept for the Reserve Components. Hence, we should be thankful for having had it funded for the past few years, but fiscal constraints prevent us from continuing the program. Such is life.
But it is clearly a huge incentive. We are going to struggle to meet mission if it is no longer available. And less assigned strength in the Reserve Component means more missions for the Active Component. Will see how that works out.

Less Reserve Component support means more work for the Active Component. Which means less opportunities to attend school and use tuition assistance. We are defeating the point of the cost savings.

No less reserve component means less work for active units so we don't have to clean up your mess and you aren't placing our lives at risk with your substandard training.
Glad I'm out.

So is everyone else. The Army becomes a better place everytime an amateur like you leaves it's ranks.

Yeah bro I should have checked out and went into the Guard for the nice easy don't give a frick paycheck. But that would have meant I would have to get a transition to a Blackhawk and I'm sure as hell not flying that.

I just want to say thank you for not continuing your service in the guard. You obviously have nothing to contribute.

The problem ole war Skype, is that those reservist have a legal binding contract saying they are entitled to the benefit, plus a lot of theses reservist have deployed multiple times
Those currently participating still have 4 years.

I'm sure your many years of flying from chow hall to chow hall must have been hard for you, but hey flight suits do look pretty cool.
Gunpilot not lift. Akin to a Carnivore vs Herbivore.

Shows what little you know. There are AH 64 units in both the USAR and the ARNG. Sure you could demonstrate to them how great of an attack pilot you are.
Another company grade officer that has never commanded anything and yet has all the answers in the world.

I'm thinking this cat washed out of flight school.

Not for long thanks to ARI. But then again I'm sure you've talked personally to MG Lundy about all the details like I have.

Maybe. Maybe not. Just another former AC (hmmm) guy running his mouth about things he does not know. Typical.
"I get all of the time and resources. I have full flight pay and allowances and you only get four days of it even though you have the same requirements as me every month. Why aren't you as good as me?"
Just ignorant about our history and how the construct of our military. Here is one for you. What job was Colonel George C. Marshall doing in Chicago before the war? Who has responsibility to provide support to the Reserve Component?
Yeah. Look in the mirror if you do not like the outcomes you are seeing.

Of this is true, then the only way I can describe how I feel right now is "disappointment."

nah, I actually know him personally many moons ago.
he's alright, just brash and opinionated. He was a gunship pilot, air wing types are just different.
A ton of the officers I have come in contact and had to deal with on the reserve side are clueless, a reserve CPL or Sgt can easily do a better job. but thats USMCR..

MG Lundy is the Aviation Branch Chief and USAACE commander. He briefs Congress personally on ARI since it was his brainchild. It is you who knows nothing.
ETA: Not sure if you were directing that to me or not. However my info stands. 64s are leaving the Guard and Reserves shortly.
