Hampton was previously convicted in 1992 on first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy charges out of Jefferson County. He served 20 years, five months and 26 days in prison before his release on March 22, 2012. He was also charged with kidnapping, but that charge was dismissed.

Details about those March 5, 1991 crimes weren’t immediately available but a sex offender notification states “the offender, along with seven other men, committed rape Rape 1st and Sodomy 1st on an adult female.”

The rumor going around town is she left the bar alone to go meet a co-worker. She OD'd wherever they were, and the co-worker panicked and had a friend help bury her on a family member's property.

This is what I'm hearing as well.

It's been established she left the bar alone. The bar provided camera footage of her leaving by herself. The rumor is she left to meet her co-worker. She got wherever co-worker was, she OD'd, co-worker panicked and had I guess this guy that has a warrant out help bury her(which would explain the abuse of corpse charge), co-worker took the victim's phone and sent the infamous "I am in trouble" text after she had already perished. Co-worker allegedly has gone to cops and admitted all of this.

Wow! I haven't really followed the story too closely since the info came out about the text. I take it this is all true?

What kind of work was she in?
Is it known what she overdosed on?

Nah, it's just the word around the town she's from. Could be true, could not be. It makes more sense than any of the other theories out there.

No. It hasn't even been confirmed that's how she died.

Why no information on the crime the convicted sex offender committed to become a convicted sex offender?

Two years later, Hampton was arrested and charged with rape and sodomy. He was found guilty of rape and sodomy and sentenced to 20 years and 6 months in prison. According to the Alabama Department of Corrections, Hampton served 20 years, 5 months and 26 days and was released in March 2012.

Three months later, Hampton was arrested and charged with failure to register as a sex offender. In November, Hampton was given a two-year suspended sentence and put on probation. At the time of Houston’s death, Deputy Chief Agee said Hampton was current in his registration as required by the Sex Offender Notification Act.

I'm guessing all this is true. Houston was a heroin addict who it seems fell back into it. The fact that this guy is charged for burying the body but not in any way charged for her death makes this story seem quite real. And the "coworker" always seemed sketchy.

No, that's the main speculation based on the way things are unfolding now.

It all fits with what has been posted already. The friend goes in and confesses this is how it went down to the police, who are now looking for this guy who supposedly buried (or helped to bury) the body. The autopsy has come back and no cause of death has been released. But if you're arresting the guy for abuse of a corpse but not implicating him in the actual death, then what else could it be?

it could be they have evidence that he disposed of the body, but don't have enough evidence yet to charge him in connection with the death.

I don’t have any friends good enough to help me bury a body. What does that say about me?

You have a link for any of this or are you just spreading bulls hit like everyone else in Birmingham?

Hampton was initially held in the Birmingham City Jail on a 48-hour extension on suspicion of kidnapping beginning Saturday, Dec. 28, but was released two days later because investigators did not have enough to charge him with any crime.

Agee said investigators have determined Houston was with Hampton on Dec. 20, 2019 and Dec. 21, 2019. She died on Dec. 21 at a house on McClain Street in Brighton, he said. Asked if Houston was with Hampton willingly and voluntarily, Agee said, “We are saying they were together. There is no evidence there was any force.”

OT not terribly sorry for not copying the alleged perps picture, but I was busy and thought some of you might be interested in the story. The pix of the guy would answer some of the questions that seem to be asked a lot, so I guessed (wrongly) that giving a link to a breaking story was more impt that ignoring it.

Makes no sense at all for many reasons. More likely the coworker and or the other guy had something to do with her death. Non-guilty people shouldn’t have an instinct to try and (poorly) cover up an OD.

I’m not surprised that the coworker would (Allegedly) try and tell the cops this, but I would be shocked if that’s the final verdict on this deal. Just doesn’t make any sense.

There was nothing wrong with what you posted.

People in Birmingham have spreading the same rumours for weeks that were spread here today.

If spleen would have watched the press conference last night by the sheriff's dept, he would have realized half the shite he posted was false.
