PC in the work place is out of control

My cousin is a manager at a large firm and had reserved a conference room for a team lunch and learn. When they get to the room inexplicably there are no chairs to sit in. He says that's alright team let's just sit on the floor "Indian style" and eat and discuss our topic. We'll... Someone got offended by the term and complained to diversity office and he got called in and reprimanded and assigned to complete a 8 hour diversity course.

The HR person asked him to sign some paper work acknowledging the issue and basically saying he would agree to do the training as a condition of continued employment. He reluctantly agreed but he didn't have a pen to sign. The HR lady says just take one off my desk I have 50 pens on there.

Well an hour later the HR lady comes back to his office and demands for him to give him the pen back. The same pen she gave him earlier.
