What are the chances this thing will blow through Mexico, enter the Gulf and restrengthen?

My guess none... That area is very mountainous, guess it would fizzle out before that happening...

It's not going to have enough time to go tropical again imo. It will likely enhance the rain we'll get this weekend.

Actually I read that there's a possibility that it will reform over the gulf and make landfall as a TS near franklin.

I'll find what I read and edit.

I find that hard to believe, the mountains of central Mexico will nerf that thing with the quickness.

I keep reading that we in Lake Charles should expect 4-6 inches of rain. Yet, every model in see has this thing sliding up the cost along a front. I think we re going to get hammered starting Sunday.

It looks to me like the track will take the COC into the Gulf NE of Brownsville.

Good... because in my world college football Saturday is more important than Mexico.

I texted him asking about his situation. They can't just charter a jet at this point... they were supposed to leave today on a scheduled flight and that was cancelled. The city is surrounded by rugged mountains and I have no clue what kind of options are further inland. I would think the Hilton would have one of the safest structures in the area but obviously the proximity to the water is very concerning.

I wish him good luck. I would be flagging down guys off the street and paying them to drive me east and up.

Friction. The wind at the bottom is going to slam into a wall while the top keeps on spinning. You'll be surprised how quickly this storm falls apart over those mountains.

Yea, my lawn crunches just like snow when I walk on it. Except it's not snow. Just dead grass...
