Thinking of starting my own line of all synthetic clothing called Toxic Dump. Made out of all synthetic materials. Slogan will be 'If it last hundreds of years in a landfill just think how long it will last you!'

Back in the 80s, they actually made solid technical outdoor clothing. Then they turned into fad wear by HS/College kids.

They followed North Face. North Face used to have some great shite but went hipster. Orvis is getting that way now as well.

They must be referring to democrats. They ignore their so called belief in science by continuing to fly around the world and build homes that require 10x as much carbon as the average person.

Yeah if you buy Patagonia, you should probably already know they are one of the most liberal clothing companies in America.

I disagree. If I see someone in the woods wearing MH or Arc’teryx it’s deep in the woods. Not a few miles from the trail head heading back in with their 125L Osprey and matching Patagonia puff jacket.

Honestly, I have begun to wear cottage vendor stuff as much as I can. I can get a dyneema hybrid shell with 850 goose down overfill custom made to my measurements for the same price as some of my big box brand gear.

Why? Do you know the political leanings of all of your clothing manufacturers? Or are you just saying that because it’s common knowledge?

Lonnie Utah, I'm pretty sure who they mean. I had an email dialog with one of Patagonia's vice presidents for customer relations about 3 years ago. I told her that I did not care for their political grandstanding about some land in Utah, of all places. I'm sure you know exactly where and what I'm talking about.
Basically, she told me she didn't care about my opinions. That they have been political activists since their inception.
They made a business decision, so I made a business decision as a result. I'm sure we are both happy now.

Patagonia is shite quality and anyone that argues differently doesn’t do anything but wear them to the store.

Yeah. Years ago they had some good stuff. Their new stuff is crap. For example,I bought some Patagonia wading boots for fly fishing about 5 years ago. They have been worn about 20 times total and cleaned properly every time. Stored in an air conditioned closet in a wader bag. They are delaminating badly and I'm going to have to go back to using my 10 year old Simms boots.

This is why I buy Sunbritches instead of Patagonia when I want to strut on the beach.

They should just design their pants with a hole over the a-hole, and then they’ll all be out.

I assumed it's common knowledge at this point, as they make it a point to tell you their politics at every opportunity.

Gasp, REI is kind of liberal too!

I sleep outside 50 or 60 nights a year and spend every bit of free time possible outside. Patagonia makes some good shite and politics aside they do a lot of good for outdoor recreation. They are great public land advocates.

+1

As long as I keep getting my pro deal >50% off for brands like OR, Patagonia, MH, etc... IDAF about their political leanings.

I really don't care what a company's politics are. I really don't want to know. Keep your mouth shut about your politics AND your religion and make a great product. That's all I'm looking for from a company I want to do business with.

Sneaking a political message into your clothing is a whole different level of dishonesty. If they wanted to print that message on the front of a shirt and sell it to people who thought like that, then let them do it.
Printing it in a hidden area of a tag and selling it to unsuspecting customers is like spitting on somebody's hamburger while you are preparing it, slapping a bun on top and serving it to them.

scientist themselves (at least ones within governmental bodies)are ignoring science or at least data the proves global warming is a sham. They conveniently ignore sun data and underwater volcanism data when projecting global temperatures in the future to continue their narrative
