So you don’t think there is a difference between a company having political leanings vs printing political statements with expletives on their clothing?

God, you are a frickin moron.

I have worn and seen many others wear Patagonia technical clothing is some of the harshest climates man ventures into. Places where a failure of gear can mean literal death. Many wearing Patty gear make their living in these inhospitable places. Patagonia's customer service and warranty are practically legendary.

If you don't like their politics/activism fine but calling their gear shite quality just outs you as someone that knows nothing about their technical clothing.

I had an email dialog with one of Patagonia's vice presidents for customer relations about 3 years ago. I told her that I did not care for their political grandstanding about some land in Utah, of all places. I'm sure you know exactly where and what I'm talking about.

Regardless of politics, I have walked the land where the former Bears Ears NM was. I can truly say it's one of the most special places I've ever been in my life. When you walk the land there, and see the immense scope of the resource that is there, it's unbelievable. We walked to a 900+ year old dwelling that still had the corn cobs of the builders there on the ground. Pottery and every sort of stone tool just sitting on the surface. If you don't think loads of the stuff doesn't walk out in people's pockets your fooling yourself (I've seen "pickers" walk the land looking for it.) If any place deserved "status" it was that area. The fact that it was disbanded was a tragedy.

I'm of the firm belief that we should not play politics with our natural and cultural resources, they are here for all of us regardless of party we belong to, and when they are gone, they're gone.

And FWIW, the only pattiguchi gear that I own is about 2 or 3 sets of poly pro base layers that are in excess of 20 years old (with the corresponding holes in the crotch)...

I’m not shitting on Osprey. Osprey is fine for some people. They’re just heavy and not typically worn by people that spend a lot of time in the woods hiking a lot of miles.

Maybe so, but they have a lifetime guarantee and they’ve replaced multiple items for me no questions asked.

No you haven’t. You saw a Patagonia ad and have qualified yourself as an expert.

The Trader Joe’s parking lot your wife drives you to doesn’t count, dumbass. I’m sure it’s cold. Bundle up, sweetheart.

And their warranty is almost across the board industry standard. You just don’t hear about it because people aren’t having to replace shite all of the time from other notable brands.

Patagonia caters to the trendy bs stuff. But they also make high end quality shite too. If you can't distinguish between their good shite and their crappy shite that's on you. It goes across all outdoor companies. The only one that prolly won't be thrown into that bunch is Arctyryx but even they lately have been trying to captures some of them dollars.

Why errbody be hating on capitalism.

China is an enormous threat to world pollution. I appreciate Patagonia standing up to China and its usa puppets in the democratic party who are trying to move more environmentally safe usa production over seas.

Gear for extreme elements. A regular puff jacket would shred the first time you crack climb, or not keep you warm while mountaineering. Most of these companies make clothes for the masses, but their high end stuff goes to the Alex Honnolds (sp) of the world.

Think of it like Ford. They make cars meant for racing, and they also make cars designed for people who just want to get to work.
