why do you people have to make such ridiculous leaps?
Because most would from what I have seen.
It's real simple quarantine if you want, but don't try and get the government to put their thumb in others for not.
As far as the greater good comment....dude if all it takes is a simple declaration of emergency to suspend constitutional law, then that is a bad precedent and opens the door for abuse over and over. We have been under some form of emergency since atleast Clinton.
For those saying I'm not qualified to comment, twist the words however you want, the founders were clear. The federal judge in Louisville agree with me when the mayor tried to ban drive thru church
quote:
Walker called Fischer's decision "stunning," and "beyond all reason, unconstitutional," according to court documents. "On Holy Thursday, an American mayor criminalized the communal celebration of Easter. That sentence is one that this Court never expected to see outside the pages of a dystopian novel, or perhaps the pages of 'The Onion,'" he wrote.

"shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" do you people not understand???
I missed the part where the government outlawed Christianity as part of the social distancing guidance.

Oh yes...guess you missed the part about no law prohibiting the free exercise of religion. And it's not about Christianity. Personally I hope someone gets sick and sues the shite out of the church, I just don't want the government to be in charge of picking who can do what when it comes to religion.

Because the city order was singling out religious practice in lieu of other practices and it was not the least restrictive means of regulation due to it being a drive-in service.
ETA: The Kansas Supreme Court upheld their executive order prohibiting Easter masses over ten people.
So maybe, just maybe, this is a much more complex issue that you are making it out to be.
So you believe the government has no power to curtail religious practice under any circumstance?

You religious ppl think you are above everything.
This just proves we need to tax you fckkers to hell and stomp out stupidity.
If those businesses began getting taxes, they wouldn't push their product with the same effort.

It's far more contagious than the flu. It runs through hospitals, and nursing homes and their employees far more than a seasonal flu.
