Sin and man's law are two different things. Surely you can understand that, right?
Yeah. One will get you life and the other is a fricking fairy tale.

Okay, I kill you. Or I steal a dollar from you, are you telling me God judges both those sins the same?
YES! He forgives both! Red the passage again. Jesus says I don't condemn you, now turn away from sin. It doesn't matter what sin.

ive never cheated. Its not that hard to fricking not cheat, especially not to use an online site to do so. How stupid do you have to be to do that and expect not to get caught. Atleast be man enough to deal with the consequences.
I can promise I would never sign up for a site like ashley madison, of course Im not trashy either.

I'm sorry but I feel like people who believe all levels of sin are equal are fricking morons. To have premarital sex is a sin, to eat too much is a sin, to kill is a sin. If you think the three are equal, you might be a moron.
Scripture says, "The wages of sin is death". This wasn't qualified by any "level" of sin. ALL sin brings the same punishment without forgiveness from God.
That being said not all sin has the same consequences necessarily. Especially not worldly consequences. All sin has the same consequence of separating you/me/anyone from God, but obviously if you tell someone a lie in casual conversation you won't suffer the same consequences as someone who molests a child or kills another person in cold blood.

So in other words, Hitler is probably in Heaven right now if the rumor of his deathbed confessions to Christ are true?
Honestly people who think like you are sick in the head.

I have dealt with people who have committed suicide, every one was a weak person and very very selfish. The suicide was the last attempt at attention. frick em, only the strong survive.

That's evil at work, telling you that you aren't good enough, that you have to meet certain standards. That absolutely doesn't reconcile with the Bible. Your views are your views, but they are not Christian.

This guy is who Rust Cohle was talking about in True Detective when they were at that loony tent church service.

If the only thing keeping a person decent is the expectation of divine reward then, brother, that person is a piece of shite. And I’d like to get as many of them out in the open as possible. You gotta get together and tell yourself stories that violate every law of the universe just to get through the goddamn day? What’s that say about your reality? – Rust Cohle

You are 100% correct.
Just like good works don't get you into heaven.
I understand it is a hard concept for some to grasp (we are viewing sin in man's eyes), but it is basic tenet of what Jesus said.

This right here.

It isn't necessarily hypocrisy. Pastors have a hard time. We sin like everyone else, and those who teach love and forgiveness know sin. Know it very well. Having been intimate with it in the past, or even currently. Just because one is qualified to teach something, and fully believes it, doesn't mean they have the self control to consistently live it. We try, we try our hardest, but living it every day is incredibly difficult.
Everyone has a hard time with life at times. If you're going to teach something, and believe it, then you should have the self control to live it. It's not that hard to not cheat on your wife. Millions of non-pastors do it.
As a father, i don't tell my kid to not say "butt" or "crap" or other words, and then say them myself in front of him as if it's ok. DO i slip up and say bad words from time to time in front of them, sure. Is that the same as slipping up and cheating on my wife? NO. You don't just accidentally put your dick in another woman.
This guy sought out an affair. It's one thing if Jennifer Aniston walked up to him and said "take your dick out so i can suck it" Most wives would still be pissed, but would at least understand the situation would have been extremely difficult to pass up. But to actually seek out an affair, and do the work yourself to cheat, somethings wrong with you, especially when your in a position where you teach others to not do that.
And as someone who teaches forgiveness, how could he think killing himself was a way to deal with this? Did he not think people would forgive him?
This guy is the definition of a hypocrite, and there's no justifying it.

I agree for the most part with your sentiment, but you may want to qualify that a bit - to be able to consider yourself Catholic, at least -you can confess all you want, but if not sincere, down you go.
No, you can't live a life of evil and debauchery then go to confession and have the slate wiped clean.
But (unless I $lept through all those year$ of Parochial education) you can be evil incarnate your entire life, be sincerely sorry and ask forgiveness, and get admitted to the Pearly Gates.
According to what I REMEMBER being taught, anyway.

You mean you've dealt with those that have attempted suicide but not succeeded?
Those that truly want to end it, end it. Huge gap in between those that attempt and those that succeed.

I've known this family for 20 years. Absolutely horrible situation. I'm still in shock over what happened.
Please think before you post. Family and friends will be reading this thread.
