It seems as the years have passed, more and more seemingly capable people get wheeled around the airport and pre-board on flights.

I guess these are the same ones motoring around Walmart and Disney. Oh, and voting for Hillary.

Just a disgusting trend.

Agree 100%. It is obvious that people are taking advantage when the wheelchair gets to the end of the jetway and they pop up and run down the aisle to put their three giant bags in the overhead.

Who do you think you are? Me and my emotional support cat need to get on the plane early or else I'm going to have a mental breakdown.

Why does anyone want to get on the place first?

People don't GAF when traveling. They couldn't care less if something inconveniences you as long as they can get further ahead in whatever line it is that you may be waiting in, for example everyone jumping up and running to the front when the plane lands instead of waiting for your rows turn.

Same logic applies to Disney and other themeparks. Anywhere that people are anonymous and know that they will never come into contact with you again the same behavior is repeated.

I am more concerned about the large increase in "service animals" on planes. It's absurd.

that's the latest scam that everyone abuses the hell out of, most are just using that to get out of paying for services/pet fees, or getting out of no pets policies

This very thing has led me to complain to Southwest Airlines multiple times. People have such an entitlement attitude today - and then they have more than one companion board with them.

The airlines should implement a FILO (First on last off) policy. If you need help getting on you should wait for everyone to exit and then get help to deplane.

I can't count the number of times I've seen someone get on early and jump out of their seat to run down the jet way.

Most do. If you require assistance getting on (wheelchair, etc) they have you stay seated until everyone is off. Then they come help you.

My dad needed assistance on his flight. He can walk.....but not for far distances. He is disabled and walking too far he starts having trouble breathing.

As for several companions going with him....they only let one other person board the plane early with him. The other 2 people with them boarded with everyone else.

Trust me when I say that my father would MUCH rather he didn't need special assistance and be able to walk for longer distances. I can see how much it frustrates him. While I'm sure there are those assholes that take advantage and overplay their needing help, I'm sure many truly need the help.

I wonder how many able bodied people get hit by those little carts every year in the Atlanta airport....

I sat next to a large golden retriever on a flight a couple weeks ago. Best flight ever.

I bitch about all that too (BS service animals and bogus handicaps), but I saw an old dude in a wheelchair on a recent long flight. I don't think he could walk. Peeing on the plane is hard enough for me. I can't imagine what he goes through. He must have really wanted to take that trip to go to that trouble.

Then on a 8+ hour flight, there was a group of mentally challenged young people with several handlers. The handlers kept the kids on the plane and engaged with games, headphones, soothing talk, etc. to chill them out while everyone else got off first. They were handling things the right way, and I hope they were paid well. They were real pros.
