Plus they have multiple homes, hotels etc evacuated again for this. You have to give them some sort of timeline instead of daily “maybe it’ll happen at some point”

I am going to be amazed if they can get those counterweights to drop onto the building and not straight to the ground. Or did I misunderstand that part of the demolition?

I’m downtown right now over behind Tulane Med on Canal and there are a ton of people all over the place with luggage that are trying to either get a ride out or they are being stopped right here and can’t get to their hotels.
What a shitshow.

Cab/uber drivers are just dropping them off there? That’s fricked up. They can get downtown. I know it’s a pain, but take care of the customer.

Yep. Cab and Uber are just dropping them off in that parking lot on Cleveland behind Tulane Hospital. I tried sweet talking a NOPD officer to let me walk through the projects to get to the Quarter and she wasn’t having it.
Told me I had to go all the way to Esplanade. If I wanted to get in the Quarter

They are blowing the top cable mount and using thermite charges to melt the metal to make the counters and boom drop top the tower then explosives to bring the whole tower down. It should be a cool view.
