12 year old boy and 4 year old girl here. Both are smart. The girl is already using words like 'vulnerable' and 'preposterous' correctly in her vocabulary. I was really worried about the boy up until recently though. Knew he was smart with computers and puzzles, but his school work was lacking big time. He is the conservative, quiet, always walking the straight line type. The girl is always getting into trouble and saying things that she knows are borderline acceptable. Boy was recently asked to join the Duke TIP program. It was cathartic getting that letter.

Yep, and it’s got to stop.

If you send your boys to school, you ought to fight against the forces that want to make him into something he isn’t meant to be.

Twin Brothers should stop bathing together in the 40-42 range.

Brothers and Sisters should stop bathing together even earlier. About the 2-3yrs old.

Stop letting them bath together.

I routinely forge my boss's signature at work. He'll never grow out of it.

I don't think their sex has much to do with it. All kids are different IMO.

My older one is a boy and younger is a girl. Both are less than 5 in age. The only real difference in their personality is my daughter is the classic younger child. She picked up my son’s love of Star Wars so frick yeah.

Boys are much easier than girls imo. I have 3 boys, 2 girls. The girls are aliens and have been since birth.

I have a 17 year old daughter and a 14 year old son. They're complete opposites in every way. My daughter is the rule follower, loves to go to school, does her chores and homework without being told, I almost never have to get on to her.

My son is the button pusher, hates school (though he still gets good grades), wants to question everything type.

What's funny is they were the other way around from 3-12. My daughter was a holy terror and my son was as pleasant and well-behaved as could be.

Despite what popular culture demands, boys and girls are different.

Boys require civilization.

Girls require refinement.

They require different parenting styles. Otherwise you end up with freaks.

With my kids, the boys were always much easier. The girls have so much drama it's incredible, starting at a young age.

My son was a breeze for those years. My daughter was a female version of the kid from Problem Child.
