I’ve taken it away in the past if I felt he was on it too much. Honestly though he’s not on it often. It only works on WiFi and I seldom see him on it. He lost it, I found outside by mailbox, for 4-5 days not long ago and he wasn’t bothered at all. Doesn’t care about gaming either. He’s an “outside” kid

Daughter has done great, all kids are straight As, no trouble at school, no disrespect. I just don’t know how to handle the phone situation and internet stuff, obviously

Be on the lookout for sextortion scammers on Instagram. Not too long ago, a high school kid committed suicide after getting duped by a scammer who posed as a young girl trying to hook up. He thought it was actually a girl and sent nude pictures to the scammer who threatened to DM them to the kid’s close friends on IG unless the kid paid $5,000 through a PayPal account. It was a huge story that made national news

Talked to him. He swore he never sent any pics of himself to anyone. Obviously he could barely even speak when I brought the subject up. I agree me starting this thread is weird, I don't post on social media with exception of this site. I just am not good with technology and all this phone stuff. I don't stay on phone much at house in front of kids and honestly my kids don't either.
I explained the pictures he took, he deleted them. He told me most of the pics of women were stuff friends had sent or he just saw on regular websites. I didn't care about those. I explained the implications of sending pictures like that to people. He was embarrassed, hell I was. I'll get to do this again soon I'm sure with my youngest.
Thanks for all the advice and help. I don't typically need much advice with my kids, again, I've had many many demons, porn just hasn't been one of them. Not saying it is for him, but damn.
I know there are younger parents here and I got good advice, and funny replies. I can joke about stuff with my kids, but porn is something I really don't know how to handle with them. Even though I didn't technically see porn, I don't understand taking pics of yourself doing that kind of stuff. Honestly, he will find away around whatever you do. You don't sound very tech savvy.
The one advantage you do have is that he probably knows you are not tech savvy so play that to your advantage. He will get sloppy with what he is doing.
You can rattle him a little bit by saying "Boy! I know you looking at naked women on your phone. Don't let me catch you because I'll take it away"
