Funny thing with twins on the same age/level with stuff like this...

The 1 kid struggling LOVES Hot Wheels. So we bought like 10 or 20 Hot Wheels cars, put them on the dining room table in the package. Told him for every night he sleeps in his bed all night, he can open 2 of them. So as I said, after a week or so, we were good to go and he got all the cars as rewards.

So then the other kid who was having no issues at all was like, "Uhh hey guys, I sleep in my bed every night too, where's my reward?"

For the most part no, but my daughter likes to wake me up sometimes at 6 AM on a Saturday. Sometimes I'll let her watch something on the TV in my bedroom while I sleep for another hour. Otherwise both my kids don't go in my room.

'Do not disturb' sign hanging on the doorknob when necessary, does the trick.

They can have a nightmare, they can come fall asleep in the bed.

They will wake up in their own bed.

I do this with nieces and nephews too.

Usually they are too wiped from the adventure but when I get that right mix of second wind and sugar rush I feel like a vengeful god.

Completely off limits, except rare circumstances.

Good luck getting the woman to help you enforce it.

My son was only allowed in our room when there was bad weather (tornado, severe storm...), his father was out of town or after knocking and waiting for a response.

Legit I was never allowed to go in. I went in (when my parents were around) maybe like 5 times in my childhood because one of the other toilets stopped working and their room was closest to mine.

When I grew up and it stopped being a big deal, I saw that my dad had a legit full sized gym once you passed the bathroom

One of my friends kids basically asked to my wife to breast feed him. He’s old enough to know she has boobs but not old enough to understand not every woman with boobs is a source of food for him.

Did she tell him OK? If so, can I meet her?

I've never slept in my parents' bed, not ever. Neither did my children ever sleep in mine

From 6 months on my kid has stayed in her bed 99% of the time. Probably 1 or 2 nights a year is about standard that she may sleep in the master. If the lights are out or she is really sick is about the only time she has been allowed in the master, otherwise she sleeps in her bed.

We stuck to sleep training hardcore and she is really easy to put to bed now because of it.

I grew up with this kid.

His parents wouldn't let him in the master bedroom.

But if you slept over, they'd let you go in there and make fun of him that they wouldn't let him in go.

It was strange. They did have a big sling in there. Maybe that was why. I rode it a couple times. It was cool. A little greasy maybe.

My 5 yr old reads with us and falls asleep in our bed every night. Once he his asleep I carry him to his bed and he doesn’t move again until morning.

Kind of a pain in the arse, but it works for us.
