MADISON, Wis. — The Baraboo School District acknowledged a parent disrupted graduation by pushing someone on stage out of way May 31. A video of the incident shows the man shoved was Baraboo Superintendent Rainey Briggs.
The video shows a man walking on stage and moving Briggs, keeping him from shaking the hands of a graduating student.

There is just zero excuse for this in 2024.

Unless he boned your daughter, there should be no reason to ruin graduation like that.

Not excusing what the man did, but in the link it says he was a father of a female student who was being bullied at said school and his reaction was to the school superintendent not handling the situation properly

He was protesting the district for their handling of bullying incidents for his daughter but it wasn’t mentioned in the article since they found those comments on social media.

The look on the kid's face kind of said it all. You only get one HS graduation and now that's going to be the memory she has of it her whole life. Way to go dad.

I don't get it, did he have some personal beef with this man?

I mean if he has words for the superintendent, on stage in front of the whole school when your daughter is getting her diploma and drawing more unwanted attention towards her is not the opportune time for that. She was clearly uncomfortable.

The pair have had a lot of words and I have been doing some digging into why a father would ruin his daughter's graduation in this fashion. Apparently the graduating girl was suspended a year from the school in Baraboo for Bullying.
There are "allegedly" a lot of other parents in the school district that have an issue with this superintendent but most MSM outlets are trying to frame the story as a racist dad who doesn't want his daughter touching a black man.

The buttons on that double-breasted suit are about to fly off and hurt someone

This is so bad for his daughter, even worse if she was already a victim of bullying.

Dude is a narcissistic piece of shite. Whatever led up to that moment, the girl was there to receive her diploma and was clearly enjoying herself before that. Now every time she thinks about getting her diploma and her high school graduation she has to be reminded of her dad assaulting the Superintendent and making a spectacle about whatever was going on in front of everyone.
Dude needs his arse kicked.

He should be thanking the superintendent for making sure his kid grew up normal
Back in the day when we bullied somebody for being fat or gay or whatever they lost weight and straightened out
Nowadays that bullying is illegal everybody is fat and gay

If that’s true, then we know where the bullying originated

Good job pops. Way to make it all about yourself on what is supposed to be a "special day" for your child. I'm sure whatever issues he had could've been handled at a better time and place

Found this on the same news source (Madison.com had the same story but has since been removed.
Baraboo residents have started a group to recall school president.
I think the dad is an a-hole for doing this just not the "racist" a-hole as how it is being portrayed by other media outlets:

Baraboo residents looking to recall School Board president
Friday's graduation ceremony came during a particularly fraught time in the district. A large group of residents, including a former district teacher who worked in the district prior to Briggs' tenure, have voiced numerous frustrations with Briggs and other administrators, as well as with the School Board.
The group is currently attempting to recall Vodak and has until July 14 to submit more than 2,500 signatures to force a recall election. If the campaign is successful, Vodak said the election would be in late August or early September at the earliest. Vodak is up for re-election next spring.
Critics have accused Vodak of favoritism toward the administration, providing inadequate pay and administrative support for teachers, and unfairly firing former Jack Young Middle School Principal Abby Alt and former school resource officer Amanda Sabol, among others.
Many of those grievances have been shared through social media, including the Baraboo Community Conversations and Baraboo SD WI Parents' Rights in Education Facebook pages.
