Such a tricky spot. I’d bet you are almost condolled-out by now, and more condolences will start to drive you crazy.

Everyone will understand if you don’t want visitors streaming through to say how great it has been to know you. They leave comfortable that they said goodbye but you still have to get some dinner and go to bed to wake up tomorrow, maybe for another three months or three years or more. Everyone will understand if you prefer to go about living you life rather than talk about cancer all the time. If someone doesn’t understand at first, eventually they will.

We just had a close family member with a six month diagnosis stay around for more than three years. If friends were coming over to have coffee or wine or do something, she would go as long as she could. If folks were coming around to say goodbye, she didn’t want to see them. We understood.

Thanks for letting us know about this. Now go do some stuff on your terms.

This breaks my heart. I sat with a friend recently who had lost his wife. He talked about seeing miracles in other people’s lives and wondered where his (his wife’s) miracle was. Point being, miracles do happen. I pray you get yours.

If not make every moment count.

I’ve read your threads over the past couple of years or so. So sorry to hear this.

What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t done?

I think we should set up a go fund me and make it happen.

2 years is a long time to enjoy life. Not sure what I would do in your shoes, OP. I hope you find real peace either way.

God bless you and please keep fighting.

My ex helped attend to and market/publicity for a wonderful woman in the late 90's. Erin Kramp. Through the experience, Erin wrote a great book Living With The End In Mind. Maybe it will help you as it has millions of others.

Given that this is the OT, and medical research is constantly improving, I expect pics in 5 or 10 years. You don't get the option to GTFO.

You got my prayers baw...ette. Hopefully 2 years turns into many more. And I have faith that it can happen. Maybe its the final chapter of this book, but its the start of a new one. Good luck to you.

If you want some positive news on a related subject, my good friends mom was diagnosed with lung cancer, forgot what stage, but it wasn't good. They told her she might have a year to live. 3 months later after trying some different treatment that is somewhat new and not what is normally given to lung cancer patients, they are optimistic she can live for 6-8 years now b/c of how well the treatments have gone.
Pancreatic cancer sucks though. sorry to hear it and keep fighting. Never give up.

When all this began we went to Alaska because I wanted to see the Northern Lights and I did! I am leaving in a few weeks on a trip to Maine. Trying to get all I can before the chemo starts again. I appreciate the gesture but a go fund me is not necessary. I WILL take all the thoughts and prayers!
