My friend lived near as a kid and he and his buddies rode their bikes over to the crash site when they heard it. He saw some bad stuff and to this day has never flown because of that day.

This crash and the one at DFW in 1985 led to wind shear detection technology for aircraft.

Flight 759, along with Delta Air Lines Flight 191 which crashed due to similar circumstances three years later, led to the development of the Airborne wind shear detection and alert system and the mandate of installing windshear detection systems on board by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration by 1993.[5]
A memorial to the accident is located at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Kenner, Louisiana.

You have a good memory.... yes we were on our honeymoon the week before... or very close to it... got married June 26th and delayed honeymoon for a week... just kinda weird that we went to church the Sunday before it happened.... like I said... spooky.... it was horrible the damage that was done and all the lives that were lost..... just horrible....

I have a friend that lives in a house now that the planes start passing right over head every 20 min or so starting about 5am it seems, like clock work. I think about it every time I stay over there and it wakes me up in the morning

Wasn't there a baby found in one of the houses that survived, but everyone else perished. Terrible day, remember it well.
