I don't think his goal is to kill a lot of people. He might just be trying to induce panic, which he is successfully doing. I'd imagine a lot of people in Austin and nearby areas are pretty freaked out by this and it's causing a headache for law enforcement and Fed Ex, UPS, etc.

Yeah, if his goal was to kill a lot of people, he would've had every opportunity in the world during SXSW.

I mean up until the trip wire bomb, why would you be freaking out about package bombs? The first package bomb could have been a fluke, then you have the 2nd which is where it kinda gets scary.

But after the 2nd, you'd have to be an idiot to pick up anymore packages. Just leave that shite on your front door and stop ordering more.

Dropping off bombs in back packs or in trash cans in random busy public areas is a hell of a lot scarier.

This is some scary shite. We need more strict bomb laws.

This response is so dumb. It's akin to saying we need to arm FedEx employees with bombs to defend themselves.

No, the response is dumb because there are significantly fewer bombs that kill people than guns. If getting bombing material was legal, more bombs would go off.

I think responsible people should still be allowed to have guns obviously, but this argument just makes no sense to me.

Reminds me of the anthrax letters and DC sniper. Relatively small, steady, and prolonged attacks create far more panic and terror than one blaze of glory.

That's the gist of my point - trying to draw some parallel between bombs and gun control is dumb. I replied with an equally dumb comment to point out how dumb it is.

Kids were going to smoke some weed at the park. Next thing they know they're in the middle of the street. That's the sort of stuff that makes it frightening for everyone else.

Glad they were at least on their bikes, because it wasn't as damaging as it probably could have been.

I would think they could track the packages back to the drop box they originated from and go back through surveillance video to get a potential list of suspects

Jon Daniels lost most of his best agents to free agency. The new ones are either washed up or have minimal talent.
