Didn’t he harass the Beastie Boys as well?

My grandma who lived in Sherwood Forest used to tell me Ossie lived in one of the houses there off the Blvd, I don't guess she was lying. Is Ossie still alive? I didn't know he was the EBR DA.

IDK.
I do know that the policies and initiatives he pushed here in EBRP have driven off a lot of good acts that could’ve played the PMAC and/or River Center (Centroplex) over the years. It’s just too easy to play Lafayette and/or New Orleans and not have to deal with the BR bullshite. To this day.

No, he died sometime around 2008.

I remember Ossie Brown very well. He was the DA when I was a student.
I have trouble believing that he is the reason we don’t get the big shows and concerts anymore. I think the main reason is because the PMAC and the Centroplex (or whatever they call it these days) are obsolete venues.

I grew up in Sherwood Forrest. His house was two blocks from mine. He always put up a really cool Christmas display in his yard.

I bet he locked up quite a few "devil worshippers" in his day.

Jack and Sharon and Kelly spent a lot of time around him, so I guess the cray rubbed off?

Sounds like he probably wasn’t sad when Lynyrd Skynyrd’s plane didn’t make it to Baton Rouge.

Remember, it was Private Citizen Ossie Brown, not District Attorney Ossie Brown leading those crusades.

But he obviously stayed his arse off of Frenchtown Rd.

They’re definitely outdated. But my understanding is that it’s more about the taxes and fees EBRP charges and the paperwork involved. Things that Ossie pushed for.
Again, it’s cheaper and less bullshite for headliners to deal with to just play Lafayette or New Orleans. At least that’s how it was for a long time. The River Center will still host a good act now and again, but not nearly as often as it once did.

I know the one. I have friends who went to school with him. Said he was one of the biggest jellyheads at WEEDLAWN High. And back then, that was saying a lot.

Tell us about that Ice Cream shop in NOLA that he sold the day after some drug charges were dropped. Was Camille Gravel involved? Ossie. Joke

Don't talk bad about ole Ossie, he fixed a ticket for me many years ago.

I always figured it was because BR is down the street from New Orleans and then it's straight on to Houston for touring bands.

Oh, I remember all too well as then DA Ossie Brown cost me my chance to see Randy Rhoads. I had tickets to that show and Ossie did in fact ban Ozzy as a Devil Worshiper after he was in the news for biting the head off of a Bat. At that time, BR was a top 5 Tour stop. It was an epic era of concert history. Every weekend was a HOF Performer. I was a very young electrician at the time and drove a huge arse Bread Van for work. It was white, and in the sheen of dirt and dust I scrawled out the words, "Ozzy vs Ossie" on it in huge arse letters. A picture of me driving that van with those words somehow ended up in the local newspaper. My then boss was not pleased. In true Ozzy form, he gave Ossie a huge FU and played a killer outdoor show in 1983 at the State Fairgrounds on Airline. The line-up was Blue Oyster Cult, LeRoux and Vandenberg. Jake E Lee played Lead Guitar that night for Ozzy.

Was it Led Zeppelin that tore up the hotel rooms?
