Spot on. That’s the Big Pharma business model.

Before all the crazy comments, I know of 3 people that used it, dropped a ton of weight, and also changed their lifestyle completely. They are now fitness fanatics.
I’ll match your 3 people with 5 people I know that used it, lost weight, then gained it back.

The reason why Novo gained this much value is because Ozempic is a lifetime drug for most people.

Pretty funny the cognitive dissonance in this thread. You can tell a bunch here are either taking the pill or have people close that are taking it.

Most here would shite on an obvious "too good to be true" easy way out.

These things never end well.

Or we are actually educated on the subject unlike you.

Many here have admitted taking it. I do not take it but I see the value of the medicine.

Most are fricking gimps who live behind the keyboard all day/night and very likely need GLPs.

Or insecure fricks who hate to see fatties become anything better. Guess it makes them feel a little better about themselves. Other than that, I can’t wrap my mind around how much tOT hates these meds.

I see people every single day who have completely transformed their entire life due to the help of these meds. The people who have a problem with that, have deep problems with themselves that they need to evaluate.

With that being said, jack out. Y’all enjoy the hatred of GLPs, young bucks.

Majority of women are adderall and ozempic junkies today.

The side effects are bee sting lips.

Not digging through the whole thread for this, but anyone have links to evidence of this? Or why this is getting circulated?

It seems like a lot of the criticism in this thread is "we don't know the long-term effects" or "it's going to kill your intestines and you'll wind up with an ostomy bag"...which is it?

Not it!

ETA: I asked earlier if there were any crossovers from the BMI thread admitting they were fat and shitting on the fatty pills in here but all I heard were crickets

As a middle aged woman, I have more friends on this stuff than I care to count. That said, I'm on the fence about it.

On the one hand, obesity causes myriad health problems and is a strain on our health system, makes people feel like crap and unmotivated, causes depression (or does depression cause obesity...chicken/egg IDK), etc.

On the other, all these meds do is regulate satiation and cause people to...wait for it...EAT LESS. I have friends who have absolutely changed their habits, but others eat the same crap that made them overweight in the first place.

The point is that eating in a caloric deficit works 100% of the time, and it's not only free, it actually saves you money bc you're eating less! These meds completely bypass the addiction aspect these people have with food. Unless they commit to a lifetime of this, they will balloon right back up.

And these women did not have to show proof that they've tried anything at all to lose weight. If a doctor requests it the "right" way, they're getting it paid for.

Thea’s exactly why I wouldn’t take it.That’s why I didn’t take the Covid “vax”.
When fen-phen came out I had 2 co-workers got on it,one ended up with aortic valve damage and pulmonary hypertension.
I also remember Vioxx and Bextra.

I need to lose 30 lbs but I’m a lazy fat arse that spends too much time on the internet and reading.Ozempic sounds enticing but I’m not going to chance it.
Had an extensive cardiac evaluation about 6 months ago, every thing turned out good,BP is good.
73 and take no meds so I don’t worry about it much.

You might be able to go to a compounding pharmacy and get semaglutide made and pay cash but your insurance company will laugh in your face if you try to get them to pay for it.

I'm curious if the same people who champion this drug also champion other shortcuts to weight loss. Adderall, hydroxycut, gastric bypass?

I know people who have lost a ton of weight with all of those yet there's more of a stigma tied to them.

They all effectively do the same thing just as you described, make people eat less, but there seems to be a weird arrogance behind Ozempic, like its better.

I honestly haven't done much research on it, it's just hard for me to believe we finally found the weight loss magic pill with no negative consequences.
