Chris' has gone down hill imo. The orginal on Broad was on point and the place where every swinging dick in the city would go.

Last couple times i have been the steak was either way too charred and raw (not medium rare) or they kept it in the broiler too long.

The mixed grill at lunch is pretty good, however.

My experiences with steakhouses has soured. i feel i can get a nice Prime cut from a butcher and cook it myself and enjoy it more. Chris', Flemings, etc etc all the same.

However, i will go to Crescent City Steakhouse any day of the week. good cut of meat and good price. a day at the track and a steak afterwards cant be beat.

Anybody else notice that the brothers really like Cheddar's?

i dont know about Cheddar's but that is true for Houston's or Houston's Jr (where the old Houstons on Vets was)

We d call Houston's "BCP" --- Black Commander's Palace.

If I’m going to spend that kind of money on steak I’ll just go to Does where it’s at least awesome

Ruth’s Chris is good but not worth the price imo

Olive Garden is great. Sure, it’s not 5 diamond Italian but the food is good enough to enjoy (for me) and the service has ALWAYS been very above average for a mid level restaurant chain

1out of every 3 visits, the steak was just bad.

It really is hit or miss.
Went for my son's birthday a few weeks ago, it was a good dining experience.

No, I just live in Dallas. If you want a great steak, Ruth's Chris is not where you go. Maybe if you wanted something off the tollway to take a client for a lunch. It is not a bad steak, but is way down the list.

Ruth's Chris is amazing when you live in a shithole and just have Chili's to compare it to

Imagine thinking Trip Advisor ranking meant anything

Top 8 in New Orleans includes Drago's and Daisy Dukes.

Where TH03 wishes he lived, Collin County.

Before that near the Galleria area, not far from Ruth's Chris where we would go eat sometimes

I've pretty much written them off, even Del Frisco's has slipped a few notches, imo, Keller, btw

Imagine thinking Ruth's Chris is prime steak

OK, it did not make the top 12 on this list
https://dallas.eater.com/maps/dallas-best-steakhouses

Or top 10 on Yelp
https://www.yelp.com/search?cflt=steak&find_loc=Dallas%2C+TX

Or D Magazine
https://www.dmagazine.com/publications/d-magazine/2018/may/dallas-steakhouses-best/

Or this whatever this one is
https://www.purewow.com/food/best-steakhouses-dallas

I have ate at both, they are not really wrong about Saltgrass being as good.

I find Doe's to be wildly varied by location on quality and atmosphere.
