Guy at work was on the staff with Bama one year when they won. He refused to go due to politics. Dumbest shite I’ve ever heard.

Nobody gives a frick about eating lunch with the CEO. All they want is to do their work and go home while being paid a livable wage with decent benefits. Not everyone gives a damn about office politics or climbing the corporate ladder

And that’s exactly the reason they will always be moaning and complaining, and never achieve much, but always there with unending complaints about their plight in life.

I used to agree with this. Now, IDK, it’s pretty bad

I know some, or many, here weren’t fans of Galligan during his time as interim president of LSU. Opinions on his job performance aside, he’s a great man that genuinely wanted good things for the school. I got to know him during my time on campus and he’s always made it known that his door is open if I needed help in my career.

Maybe he’s a shitty micro-managing CEO that thinks “edgy” ideas will garner him favor, but in reality his employees don’t like him.

Ironically, giving a damn about this...

.

Not everyone is cut out for C-suite responsibilities; however, there are other avenues to go up the corporate ladder to make sure you get to where you are comfortable/happy. Even if it's not with the current company, putting int he work for the promotions will only help leverage you for that position at a company you want to work.

He's been in Washington for 50 years...

I would go. I would make sure to study up on his more hypocritical moments in his career and just annoy the shite out of his staff by getting him to talk out of both sides of him mouth. Especially his more extreme racial stances

Nah.

You can make a plenty comfortable living without seeking ladder climbing into management. I make 6 figures as an engineer and I have no desire to get into management. I'm comfortable and I am certain that managing people and their problems would be a certain kind of hell for me and would certainly lead to midlife crisis.

If I was specifically was invited to eat lunch with my CEO then I'd go, but I wouldn't go on some arbitrary open door lunch policy.
