Oversized pickup trucks parking diagonally and taking up two parking spots

Even in small corner store or gas station parking lots. Is this some general rule? Are they assholes or do they just think they deserve special treatment?

I used to take pictures of this and post "If you can't drive a tuck, you shouldn't own a truck" on FB and people got fricking. pissed.
